Honeymoon Blues
Re: Honeymoon Blues
Price out both... but beforehand, make the pact that you'll take the cheaper one first, and that you'll take the 2nd trip as a one year anniversary (the more expensive one second so you have another year to save up). This way you both win, just at different times. Look into a 'beach' destination where there are lots of day trips, or outdoor activities, or maybe a cruise, because you get the sun and tropics, but you aren't necessarily sitting around all day.

Have your considered a cruise? They're fantastic-- so much to see and do and they combine the best of everything (vegas style shows, bars, great food, lounging by the pool, excursions at your destination, etc). Everything you could possibly want is in one place. The best part is that there are some great ones that leave right out of NYC-- which means you can pack whatever you want and don't have to deal with airlines, travel time, etc. We're going on a Norwegian cruise to Bermuda out of NYC. Feel free to FM me if you have any questions-- I'm a huge fan of cruising!
Re: Honeymoon Blues
what about california and LV. we flew to san diego, drove to los angeles and then drove to las vegas and then flew home. It was an amazing trip the drive was beautiful and you get to see so much on the way.

definitely look into a cruise! also, what about doing something like the first part of the trip in disney, and the second part on a beach? that way you both get to do something you want to do (not sit on a beach and then sit on a beach!) i loved key largo. my fiance and i went there last year. my parents fortunately have a second home in florida, so we did 2 days in disney, and 3 days in key largo. best of both worlds!
Honeymoon Blues
Can you think of a way to do a little of both? My fiance and I had different opinions of the ideal honeymoon as well. He, like you, pictures us on a beach with a drink in our hands the entire time. I start to panic at that idea thinking I will be the first person ever to say they were bored on their honeymoon. Our current plan (still just under 2 years away!) is to do 5 days in disney world (for me) followed by 5 days on a cruise to the bahamas (for him). best of both worlds! And in case you were wondering the cost of this extravaganza, it does require a little bit of compromise. We most likely will not be staying in the grand luxury honeymoon suites at either place, but for us, the trade off is well worth it.

My FH had the same argument we booked a 7 cruise and we both are happy with it!!

I would look into California...you can be on the beach one day and in the mountains next day..I would also suggest using a travel agent for this type of trip. I have same issue I am more of a rock climber who doesnt swim and FH is a water junkie! We have done crusises and that worked well for us because there was a lot of us to do together and separately!!
Re: Honeymoon Blues
why dont you drive down to the FL keys?

Honeymoon Blues
My exH was very similar as he didn't want to travel out of the country and a cruise wasn't an option. We ended up going to Vegas. The weather was great. We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite at the Venetian. Just an idea!
