I don't know, but I'm way over mine and every day I want to email my travel agent and tell him we need to figure something out.

We first decided on where we want to go.
Then we decided its crazy expensive.
Then we realized if we save and save and saveeeeeeeee we can swing it without dipping into our wedding gift money
we set our budget and may have to skimp on a few other things but we're so happy with our destination
TAHITI! baby!!!!!!!!!

yeah i wanted tahiti or bora bora but the thought of 15k is making me ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...... a little dizzy! lol

Its a tough decision, especially when you are paying for it yourself. One thing that my FH and I discussed is that our honeymoon is going to be our last big big trip for a long time. We really want to do the south pacific with a visit to New Zealand. We havent priced it out yet but we are determined to make out last trip before kids a big one!! Just think you only have one honeymoon!

it makes me very dizzy too!! 15k for like 10days.. o.O
we just talked to my TA (tom) and told him I wanted the best for a reasonable price~ first I asked how much tahti and hawaii was and I said it was wayy to expensive so he said we should do carribeans or mexico..
we got a all-inclusive 7night at riviera maya Mexico for 5k.
i think it should be what you can do...of course. BUT i feel like a honeymoon should be a place where it's outside the caribbean bc the caribbean is so easy to get to -and always on sale...
i see as 2 weeks some 1 week of a moment of relaxing on an exotic island or sightseein wonderful ancient ruins..
why, bc 2 -5 yrs from now that exotic destination wont feel so romantic or economical with 2 kids lol and those ancient ruins and tours wont be fun chasing your 3 yrs old around the the eiffel tower or the great wall of china. lol
that's how i see it..so anyone's budget can come true to any ideal honeymoon -maybe it's 2k-5k-12k whatever it be- anything is possible- depends when u go, which hotels etc.
jmo and im not knockin those who booked caribbean bc-i may end up doing the caribbean b4 i do my Maldives 1 or 2 mths later BC i want that exotic honeymoon..and bc im focused on my wedding plannin my HM can wait a month or 2 :)

I think a budget is tough...I knew that if we went to a nice resort in the carribean for a week (a nice one) it would be around $5000....I made a budget if we did something different in europe or figi and figured 10,000...If you go to a travel agent and give them your budget most will be honest and tell you if you can do it for that. We are going to Greece for 10 days and hopping between 3 islands and we are spending under 10....So i guess you have to decide how much you can actually spend and go from there. I am a very thrifty person and had a lot of trouble spending this money...but my FH reminded me we probably won't do this again for a long time...soon there will be kids and after that a beautiful trip like that might not happen for a while....but be honest about what you can do...

what you can afford after you know all your vendors are 100% paid for or you know when they can be 100% paid off before the wedding, when you find out how much you can save to to that part of the wedding and finally when you figure out how much you are willing to spend vs how much time you have off from work.
So therefore fh and i = no honeymoon because we rather pay off our vendors and save the wedding money we get back for a house. Big fancy vaca can wait for another year or two in our minds.

if you go to tahiti or bora bora...there will not be much to do but to relax. on a beach. if you are like me and i am full of action and love to do things, then i wouldnt go sit on a beach for 2 weeks.

we have no budget. we're going totally budget on the wedding b/c we didn't want a big fancy wedding to begin with, so the honeymoon is skys the limit.

i jsut sort of estimated how much each day would be and how long we would want to stay. i just gave a ballpark number (5K) to my travel agent and let him tell me what I could get for that price. Then we worked it from there.
