How much are you budgeting for your honeymoon? This is the one major stress I have had throughout the whole planning process...mostly because I told FH he had to pay for it...and he is significantly behind in saving at this point.
I told him to put away $15k. We'll have been engaged for two years by the time of the wedding, so that shouldnt be a major issue.
I'm two seconds away from going to Montauk so I dont have to stress about the money! : )

Re: Honeymoon Budget
NO!!! YOu can't go to Montauk for your HONEYMOON!!!!
We haven't started thinking about that yet. I was thinking of 'registering' with a travel agent, but my mom thinks this is tacky bc it's like asking for money.....

I think it's fine to register for your honeymoon. And I've seen it done nicely, so people dont feel like they are donating money. You could set it up so that people buy you dinner, excursions etc. I think in reality you get a lump sum at the end, but it makes people feel better when they are purchasing something specific.

Re: Honeymoon Budget
5k is about what we are paying for a week in Mexico - including airfare. I am hoping that people will buy us things or put money toward our honeymoon registry to help us out!

Re: Honeymoon Budget
We are extremely grateful, because FH and I were not going on a HM because we couldn't afford it. FMIL paid for us to go to Jamaica after the wedding. If it wasn't for her, then we would probably be going to Montauk.

You didnt steal my thread! : )
I need to just calm myself. If we dont get MY IDEAL honeymoon...we'll do something else. I'm just P*ssed this week b/c FH should have had all this put aside. It's the only thing he's responsible for!
As for your registry, definitely look into it. I know Liberty Travel can do a custom registry and I believe Destinology.com too. Not sure of the other places that do...but I think there are lots of options! Good luck!!!

Re: Honeymoon Budget
Fh budgeted 15K for Hawaii. we already spent 7K for all flights & hotels. we are going for 12 days, 11 nights & to 3 islands.
our hotel on Kauai is 3K for 3 nights, yeah we splurged on that one. so you could totally do Hawaii on a smaller budget.
we also waited to book until 3 months before which saved us a good bit of money.
