Honeymoon Cruise
We are taking a 2 week cruise on the Mediterranean on a Royal Caribbean ship. We booked the cruise in January. We are getting married 10/20/01,We got a great price from a travel agent...better than what I was getting online. You should call around and get some prices. Check online also. The closer you get the better the prices will be but you may not get exactly what you want. Good Luck Lisa

Honeymoon Cruise
You can get very good deals on last minute cruises but you have to be very flexible about where and who you cruise with. Personally, I would want to be able to choose for my honeymoon. Even more importantly, if you plan on cruising from a destination that is not New York your airfare will be much, much higher if you purchase last minute. So you will negate any benefit you get by booking last minute. We are probably going to take a Mediterranean cruise on Celebrity for our 10/2002 wedding. When is your wedding?

Honeymoon Cruise
We are going on a cruise for our honeymoon and our wedding is in October. We purchased our tickets in March and just last week purchased our airline tickets. If you really want a big bargain then you should wait, but as someone else already mentioned, you may not get what you really want ( and it is your honeymoon). You have to decide what is really important to you--I would price around--but you may not want to wait till the last minute. Good luck. Neda

Honeymoon Cruise
We are taking a Meditteranean cruise on Celebrity this September. We booked it about 10 months ago. The more particular you are about where you want your cabin on the ship, the sooner you should book. There are great last minute deals but often the best locations are booked early. Just so you know, when we booked, we only had to put a small deposit down and we didn``t have to pay the rest until 2 months before going. And, it was fully refundable. Also, many travel agents will keep an eye out on the prices (and you can too) and if there is a drop in price, they can call and have the difference credited back to you.

Honeymoon Cruise
We are getting married 4-12-02 and booked our cruise in June, 2001. Since we took the Penthouse suite the prices don't fluctuate too much, the ship only has a handful of them. And as the others said, you only need a small down payment. We would have waited if we had chosen a regular cabin. Good luck, and if you do choose to wait I would check out lowestfare.com, if not Liberty Travel (if you find a cheaper price, Liberty tries to beat it).

You can book and still look for Deals!
Ok here is the Scoop. I've planned group cruises and work with a travel agent who did this and got me a great deal. You pick a cruise you want to go on the date line and cabin. Look around for the best rate. Check online call travel agents and call cruise line (I did this and they were the same as one travel agent and less than another). Book one and make sure that you can cancel up to 60 days before (this is standard but you never know) The rates will be cheap planning it over a year ahead and there are often free cabin upgrades. Then keep your eyes on the price of the cruise and if you are some what flexible with date or ship check that to. The rates will usually increase after the discount period is over. About 100 days - 60 days the cost will only go down if the ship isn't sold well. And that means about 80-90% full. Here is what happened to us. We booked on Princess Alaskan cruise & land tour leaving Labor day. The cost for 2 weeks was about 3,000 pp. We got 2 cabin upgrade for free. Now about 3 months - 2.5 months before the travel agent was looking around so was I and found the same 2 week tour on another princess ship leaving 1 week later for 1,700 a person. We looked into changing the airfare and that only cost 50 to change dates of flight. So we saved thousands of dollars. Also just and FYI If were were to have booked the first cruise 3 months before it would have cost 3,600 pp. If you have any questions on this please don't hesitate to ask.
