We planned a Carribean cruise & did all of our reasearch online & booked over the phone directly with the cruise line.

We used a friend who is a travel agent, but I did my research on the computer prior to calling her. We are going to a cruise to the western Caribbean.

If you are handy online, you can get a good idea of what you want by searching the cruise lines websites and either book yourself or go to a Travel Agent with your ideas.
I've been on several Princess Cruises in the Caribbean and they are great. I tend to like the Eastern Caribbean ones better - the Gulf of Mexico can get choppy for the mid/western ones.

If you are looking to take a cruise - I would not book thru a TA or the actual cruiseline or you will pay a lot more.
First check out Cruisecritic.com It is a great resource. It is a posting board - you can ask about specific lines there and will get a lot of very knowledgeable people.
Second check out - Bestpricecruises.com This is a great site I know a lot of people who have used it to book cruises (my friends, family and I all use it)
If you want to know anything about Celebrity I am happy to help you I have taken 8 celebrity cruise and 2 on other lines - We are doing a delayed honeymoon in August on Celebrity we booked ourselve

We did research on our own and then we booked with Dawn from Cruise One. I agree she is awesome. I have been a basketcase and she has been an absolute sweetheart. We are spending 2 days in Spain and then going on a 2 week cruise. It is making stops in Nice, Florence, Rome, Naples, Mykonos, Santorini, and some other Greek Island, Croatia and Venice. I booked our honeymoon cruise on cruise411.com. It was the 3rd time I used them and as always they were fabulous. Great prices!
I think Royal Caribbean has nices Meditteranean Cruises. Check out their website: www.rccl.com.

I took a Mediterranean cruise on Celebrity a few years ago - it was incredible!! I highly recommend that cruise line.
