Honeymoon destination advice???

Hi girls! I am leaving the honeymoon completely us to FH. Well it seems he needs some help. Where are good honeymoon areas? I told him anywhere warm with a beach is fine with me. We haven't picked a wedding date yet but I know it will be spring/summer of 2004. Any thoughts?

I'd definatly check out Sandals resorts if all-inclusive is what you're going for!

Depending on when your wedding is - just watch the Caribbean - you don't want to go in the middle of hurricane season - which I think starts in May.

Well the hurricanes don't actually kick off until late August through November, so you should be OK. I am biased, so I say HAWAII HAWAII HAWAII

Okay - Aruba is out b/c his my FH went there with he ex-fiance (yuck). Belize I love but heard it is very expensive. Any of the ones mentioned above reasonably priced? (I don't know if he set a budget yet - I will let you know).

We looked into Belize, its not that expensive, but FH didn't like the beaches there, based on the web pictures.... I don't know why.

We're going to Costa Rica, with 6 nights at the beach there.

Here is our itinerary:

2 nights at Tabacon Resort Tabacon Resort
6 nights at Capitan Suizo bungalow on Tamarindo Beach Capitan Suizo
2 nights at Xandari plantation
Xandari Plantation

We have arranged all transfers (i.e. we are not driving around CR ourselves). I chose to use a travel agent for that reason, but I believe you can book all the hotels listed above yourself, and you should also be able to find some tranfers b/w them as well. We're staying at Xandari at my insistence, b/c its a coffee plantation and I am a coffee person, and b/c I have heard so many good things about it and I want to shop of souvenirs prior to our departure and we have a baggage limit for one of the little flights on our way back. But otherwise, its neither near a beach nor near some other attraction... Its kind of an attraction on its own.

Total damage, w/breakfasts only, was a little over 3K... I used tico travel, but if you call them, don't use Juan, he is a bit of a pain, although he got us the best rates.

You're very much welcome Alina! You guys will love it.

Your FH was right about the beaches in Belize, you don't go there if you're expecting stretches of white sand beaches that go on & on...but Belize is beautiful nonetheless, they have other things to offer, and the really NICE resorts do keep their beach area clean & very pretty.

I would highly recommend Belize, there's so much to do there and it's not your typical, overcrowed, overpriced ho-hum but that's just me, I love trying new things and I wanted something different & exciting for my honeymoon, that's why we chose Belize.

We went to Hawaii and had a wonderful time. It is so beautiful. Originally, we wanted to go to Spain &/or Italy but we got married in Nov. and it would be cold there as well.
