I know I have time to decide, but I am making myself crazy! I originally was 100% set on Tahiti. But then decided 2 weeks there might get a bit boring -- especially if it rains. Then I wanted to go to South Africa...but FH wasnt thrilled with that idea. Now I am thinking Australia. Is anyone else having trouble making a decision? Or am I just the most indecisive person on the planet. I seriously wish I could just take a yr off and travel the world. LOL

Re: Honeymoon Dilemma
I'm right there with u with having a yr off to travel. I haven't seen anything while spending all of my, government's and parent's money on education I know exactly what I want to do: lie on the beach/pool side and drink. FH is right there with me what does ur FH want to do/where to go? is there a place u always dreamed of seeing? bottom line, like u said, there is still a lot of time till then and I wouldnt go crazy trying to figure this issue now
for what its worth Australia is an awesome idea! always wanted to go there myself

Re: Honeymoon Dilemma
FH and I will be going to Australia! We're probably going to do about 2 weeks, so I want to travel all throughout Australia. But it's been something we've talked about for years!

Re: Honeymoon Dilemma
I actually thought FH would like the Tahiti idea best b/c he loves the water and relaxing. But he isnt too thrilled with it.
Australia might give us the happy median we need. There is tons to do...and we can also do the beachy resort thing during part of the trip!

Re: Honeymoon Dilemma
I'm having trouble deciding what I want. I narrowed it down to someplace tropical. I think its a difficult decision to make because you want your HM to be something you'll remember like your wedding....but its even more personal than your wedding b/c its just you and FH. And its something you want to be happy with and enjoy- not regret that you didnt go somewehre else.

Re: Honeymoon Dilemma
In the beginning we went back and forth thousands of times....First it was Hong Kong, then Australia....well we finally settled on Hawaii bc there are tons of things to do plus gorgeous beaches and relaxation.
Don't worry you will pick a gorgeous desintation!

Re: Honeymoon Dilemma
we cant decide either. first it was australia/new zealand...but the trip i had in mind to do everything was like 35 days. so that was off the list
then we figured we would go to europe and greece. but after speaking with TA realized it may be a bit too cold to lie on a beach in greece in early may
so now we are back to the drawing board.
im lookin for a tour group of australia...but havent found anything good so far. idk!

Re: Honeymoon Dilemma
I had a bit of trouble deciding. What helped me was thinking that it was a special trip and something that I wanted to make memorable. Somewhere where we would probably never get a chance to go again. That made me steer clear of a place where we could always go on vacation throughout the years. Good Luck!

Re: Honeymoon Dilemma
Same here. I want to do Australia and Fiji, but we only have 2 weeks, and FH doesn't think it's worth it after you factor in the flying time.
Then we were thinking Europe, but we are going to Italy and France this fall, so that's out.
Now he's talking about South America.
To be honest though, as long as he does all the planning, I don't really care where we go. I hate anything to do with researching and planning (which is why this wedding stuff is killing me).

Re: Honeymoon Dilemma
i'm super torn too. hawaii, tahiti or australia? we still haven't decided. the TA suggested Australia with a stop off in Fiji which would be cheaper than Tahiti because of the exchange rate there. i'm not sure yet if i want an adventurous honeymoon yet though which would probably be australia and not tahiti or hawaii. decisions decisions!

Re: Honeymoon Dilemma
I couldn't decide where I wanted to go either..
I wanted a somewhat active honeymoon that was unique and FAR (when else will work not care about me taking two consecutive weeks off of work! )
At first I had my heart set on the Turtle Islands in Fiji. I then found out that January is rainy season there - no go.
Then for months I was on a South Africa kick. I wanted to go to Capetown, the winelands, safari and then Mauritus (for some beach time). Well its the peak of summer there and is it worth spending thousands of dollars when it will be ridiculously hot?!?
Finally I think we decided.... Dubai and Maldives! That's a mix of pure relaxation in Maldives and then city life in Dubai. Plus its not a mainstream honeymoon spot for Americans so I liked that it was a little more unique.
Who knew this was such a difficult decision!!

Re: Honeymoon Dilemma
Any of the girls going to Hawaii made a great decision. If we didnt go to Maui two yrs ago, we would probably be going to Hawaii too. It's a perfect honeymoon b/c you can relax on the beach, but still find a zillion things to do. And depending on where you drive, the weather, atmosphere etc is so different.

Re: Honeymoon Dilemma
we had the same exact dilemma. First we said Tahiti, until we remembered dh HATES the beach and im ok with it but get bored after an hour. Basically a lot of research helped. After a lot of research on tahiti we realized it wasnt for us. Don't get me wrong it looks amazing but for what we were looking for that wasn't it. We changed our minds quite a few times too. Even when we decided on Capri and Monaco dh changes his mind lol. He still wanted Monaco but decided he didn't want to do Italy yet. I went crazy looking for something we wanted. I actually posted on LIW and instead of naming places, I said ok this is what i want in a HM. I explained the type of place, atmosphere and everything dh and I both wanted and people made suggestions. After what i had described, most girls recommended spain to me. After doing research on it, i did see how it was perfect for us. I have to say spain and monaco were the best decisions for us personally, everyone is different and has different wants so keep that in mind when you get suggestions. We didn't even want to leave Spain, we wanted to move there hahahaha. Maybe explain more of what you want your hm to be.
Good luck and don't worry it will come to you

Re: Honeymoon Dilemma
We had the same problem!!! At first I wanted London/Paris but he didnt want to do that bc its going to be cold there...then it was St. Lucia, then Antigua- I wasnt crazy about doing the caribbean again so we ended up booking Hawaii. We compromised...he gets the beach and relaxion and I get to go somewhere new!
