Re: Honeymoon Dilemma

To be honest, I've heard mixed reviews on Hawaii. I've never been there so I can't really judge. I know ppl that have loved it, and some that actually wanted to leave early. I know for us, we are lookin into Fiji over Hawaii b/c I feel like I can go to Hawaii any time. I want something special & unique for the HM so that's why I'd rather go to Fiji. There's more to do in Hawaii but there's still things to do in Fiji, like visiting natural waterfalls, a few volcanoes on certain islands, the best snorkeling in the world, scua diving, visiting Fijan villages, etc. I think no matter what, you will have a great time. Side note: Hawaii is more $$$ than Fiji...

The Turks n Caicos beaches are amazing... I was there probably 10 years ago when I was too young for nightlife, so can't comment on that.. but it was a BEAUTIFUL place to be! It's on my list of potential HM destinations.

i know!! my whole reasoning behind hawaii is that i dont think we'd ever get to go back there because of how expensive it is (as is fiji), so honeslty price isnt too much of an issue but like you said i want it to be special and not to sound snotty but i figured we could always go to those caribbean islands either on a cruise or just stay there (maybe not in like a luxury villa lol), but ughhh this is just so frustrating!!!

Maybe i should look into polynesian islands again, and take a look at the differences between all of them

It can't hurt to look inot them!! I can't wait to be able to sit down with a travel agent and discuss the different options. We have to wait a couple months until the pricing for August `10 comes out. GL hun!!

Re: Honeymoon Dilemma

I've heard all the polynesian islands, and like fiji and all basically shut down at night and there isn't much going on. Yes the over water bungaloo's are AWESOME!!! I personally would need some nightlife like cool shows and stuff.

St.Lucia is gorgeous (I am bias though since we are going there)! Aruba is really pretty too and I have been there at night it is still busy.

Maybe talk to a travel agent and get some ideas it certainly can't hurt to look before booking

Re: Honeymoon Dilemma

I know someone who just got back from Hawaii (it's her first day back at work today) and she was not impressed - HOWEVER, she thinks it may have a lot to do with the hurricane that hit the islands while she was there. Also she was in Oahu (sp?) and said it was very crowded and she doesn't like crowds.

FH's cousin is there on her HM right now... she emailed us last week saying she hopes it stops raining. I will find out details on how she liked it when she gets back.

HTH!

If we didn't do Hawaii we were gonna go to Costa Rica, I hear its amazing!

My FH cannot sit still he gets bored so easy. So when researching hawaii, everyone told me that kauai is very laid back and not much to do, so I crossed that off the list. Maui has a get combo of both activities and relaxation. Kona also has tons of things to do.

What about Dubai? My friend recently did her hm there and they had a great time.

The hotel was semi all inclusive, and there were great beaches and fun nightlife. She did some crazy excursions as well. Don't know what the price was, but it's another option.

Re: Honeymoon Dilemma

more nightlife in hawaii then turks and caicos. what about doing a cruise of the cook islands or just tahiti and fiji. ull have all ur activities on the boat but still be able to enjoy everything on the islands? i would LOVE to go but i cant last 17 hours traveling. haha i would need to over night in LA or start the cruise in LA.

Re: Honeymoon Dilemma

We're leaning towards Maui right now. We have 3 couples who went there on their HM and totally loved it. They said they were never bored and raved about the food, beauty, etc. I'd recommend picking up the book Maui: Revealed, it's awesome and really seems to be true to the island. It has made me super excited for our HM.

We also have friends who went to St. Lucia and told me after 6 nights they were climbing the walls bored. That the night life is non-existent.
