I am getting married in September and really wanted to do an all inclusive sandals at St. Lucia. I am getting nervous about hurricane season. My FH thinks I'm being crazy and wants to take our chances. I was looking into maybe Aruba since that is out of the hurricane belt but I really wanted a couples only all inclusive like at Sandals. Any Suggestions!?? Would you guys book there during hurricane season?

I don't think your crazy for having concerns, its not likely that a hurricane would hit St Lucia but you never know since September is an active month. We are staying in Aruba for our HM but not an all inclusive. I have heard great things about the Divi Aruba, and the occidental grande which are both all inclusive. Good Luck.

Personally I would go ahead and do it especially if my heart was set on the venue. However, just keep in mind that September is high hurricane season. I would also look up how many hurricanes have hit St. Lucia and get an idea of the threat (these statistics might also help keep your mind at ease).
It rained on my wedding day and my ceremony was outside...and I don't mean light rain...I was able to keep my ceremony outside as the drizzle started towards the end of the ceremony. It rained so hard that the highway flooded...all of my New York friends has never seen Louisiana rainstorms like that - complete with a Tornado WARNING!
There are always little bumps on the way to a bride getting married, but most of the time you just look back on them and laugh! Besides they make good stories for the kids and grandkids. =)

you should look into the Occidental Grand.. all inclusive in Aruba.. I loved Aruba, it was beautiful (though i didn't stay at Occidental- i wish!)

I was told this because I have the same problem:
(AND PLEASSSSE DONT TAKE A CHANCE - FH and I just went on a cruise in Sept. and it didn't go to Grand Cayman, which was the major stop, because of a hurricane and I was devistated - imagine it was my honeymoon!)

We are going to Cabo San Lucas b/c I was not willing to take a chance with hurricane season. Even if you dont have a hurricane it will most likely rain some.
Even tho Aruba will have the best weather odds, I have to tell you that nothing is guaranteed. I got engaged in Aruba last October and it rained and was cloudy the ENTIRE week. Ive been to aruba sooooo many times and never had bad weather BUT it just goes to show anything is possible in the caribbean

we are getting married in october and post posing our honeymoon for that reason (and others- i just got a job in a school- can't take off) i wouldn't chance it! with global warming, anything is possible!

Aruba has couples only all inclusive packages, im getting married at the same time (9/13/09) and thats a concern of mine too. Go speak to a travel agent, even if you dont book with her just get info
