Honeymoon: Excellence Playa Mujeres

I really like the look of this place and it has great reviews. But my parents are afraid it's dangerous to go to Mexico. Thoughts?

We are going to Excellence Playa Mujeres for our honeymoon! We have arranged airport transfers to and from the resort, and if we do any excursions, it will be through the resort. I know a lot of people who have travelled to Mexico and have had no problems at all. So I'm not too concerned.

If you go to Mexico, make sure the resort you're staying at is somewhere you'd want to spend the majority of the time, besides excursions set up by them. Going wandering around Mexico is not a good idea. My parents went to Cancun and decided to leave the resort to 'explore' and were bombarded by people selling fake timeshares, drugs, and prostitutes. Crazy! Just make sure you don't mind spending the majority of your trip at the resort and you'll be fine =)

OMG, you cannot go wrong with a honeymoon at EPM. My husband and I have been to all three of them multiple times and trust me, you will have a great vacation. Like the above poster said make sure you have transfers arranged (do only a private transfer!!) and if you do an excursion, make reservation through the hotel. There is absolutely no reason to wander anywhere past the touristy spots in Mexico. I will have to admit, everytime my husband and I do an excursion, while we have a great time, we always think 'what are we doing? We have a beautiful resort, amazing amenities and great food, why did we leave?' Let me know if you have any specific questions.

Thank you all for the replies! I also just spoke with a travel agent as well who said it's her top favorite resort for the Carribean/Mexico area!

We got engaged at Excellence in Playa Mujeres & we had an amazing time. We felt safe & did a private transfer. No matter where you go you always have to be aware of your surroundings. There were only two 'downsides', #1 no real ketchup like heinz (I NEED ketchup for my eggs)lol & #2 the water is nice but not like the caribbean but still nice.You cant go wrong with Excellence.

That is where we are going for our Honeymoon!! As long as you stay at the resort you are fine, and only book excursions through the front desk. Check out the reviews on trip advisor.. Thousands of people have gone and lovedd it!:)

We are going to excellence playa morales..I was picking between there and mujeres, mujeres jut didn't have the room I wanted for the time period I am going (I waited too long to book honeymoon lol) both places had amazing reviews! I don't think you'll be disappointed!
