Does anyone have any advice on finding cheaper flights for our honeymoon?
We've looked on all of the major travel sites- expedia, orbitz, side-step, travelocity, etc. I know about how much flights are right now (we're going to Belize for our honeymoon).
I was wondering more if anyone knew of a better TIME to buy tickets. i.e.- is there a certain time of year that all of the airlines run deals?
any other advice on how to get better fares? We booked the hotels, now we just have to find a way to get there!!!
TIA!!!

I went with Liberty Travel- but you can try costco- they have a great travel agent there.
You have done everything else I woudl suggest- priceline, expedia, etc...

Go to individual airline sites on Tuesdays/early Wednesdays - that is generally when they publish the new fares. They have X amount of seats for Y fare. When those are all sold, the lowest fares are gone until they republish. Find out who flies into Belize and check them out on Tuesday.

Have you booked your hotel yet? Your best bet would probably to get a package deal with your air and hotel.

Re: Honeymoon Flight advice?
We booked the hotel already because we're jumping around a little bit while we're there- 2 different hotels. We got great rates on the hotels- now we're just trying to find the airfare.
I thought that someone once told me that all of the airlines have pricewars during certain times of the year, but I can't remember when....

Depends when you are going. Leave during the week, earliest flight to save money. See if you can take a cheaper airline, like Jetblue(awesome airline, I hear they are expanding to the caribbean this year), or Southwest.
Also try honeymoon packages, sometimes the airfare or hotel gets discounted.

I dont have any tips, but I think its funny that we are both getting married on the same day, we live in LA and FI keeps bugging me to go to Belize for HM. hahaha

Re: Honeymoon Flight advice?
maybe we can get a package deal... :)
Actually, I found a GREAT rate on American Airline's site. We're going from JFK to Belize and then from Belize back to LA. I was so worried that all of those one ways were going to kill us, but the tickets were only about $600 a piece which is VERY good. Just got off the phone with them. I'M SO EXCITED!!!!!
FI and I wanted to go someplace where we could be on the beach and relax part of the time, but also have stuff to do. So, part of the time we're going to stay at the Victoria house Victoria House and then the other part we're going to stay in the Jungle at the Maruba Spa Maruba Spa .
We had booked the hotels first because we wanted to stay at specific places and didn't like any of the packages that we saw.
The only problem was that I had 'delegated' honeymoon duty to FI, and while he was the one that booked the hotels, I just did the flights. Oh well- gotta act fast on these things. He'll thank me in the end...

Re: Honeymoon Flight advice?
We used Liberty Travel. There is a major airline sale on all tickets in July. Call the travel agent, they can give you the fine details. That is when we will be purchasing our tickets for Bahamas

Re: Honeymoon Flight advice?
I hate to tell you this but airlines dont tell travel agents when they are running a sale unless its going to be a huge sale. Alot of the times we see the sale advertisement in the paper the same time you do. I would say that if you go to a travel agent, maybe they can still book the hotels you want and also get you a package airfare.
Have a wonderful time!!

definetly go to a travel agent. they often block seats ahead of time and offer it to you at a decent (unpublished) rate.
