We are on a super budget and considering foregoing the HM, but we really don't want to.... I'll be a teacher, so it won't be able to be in October -- probably President's week in February....
what do you lovely ladies think? We just want someplace warm where we can veg.... neither of us are big on clubbing or things like that... so mellow, b ut with nice restaurants on premises and option to go out would be great.... all inclusive works, too....

Hmm bc of President's week you might have some difficulty with your budget. That and spring break are the two most expensive weeks of the year to travel. BUT with a little research you can find some deals. I would recommend a 5 day cruise or possibly Cancun or the Dominican Republic. They are both beautiful and are the cheapest areas in the Carib. I would also recommend working with a travel agent. They have relationships with the cruise lines and resorts and will be able to get you 'honeymoon' upgrades that you probably couldn't get on your own.

i know we should book soon - but i dont have a teaching job in a definite location yet, and being that school breaks are different times in NY and VA, I cant make the decision of a place or booking til I have a job, which might not be til August -- oy

I agree with the previous posters that February break is really tough because of higher airfares...It's also the high season in the Caribbean, so you'll pay some of the highest rates of the year at the hotels.
I would suggest holding off until the following summer...I know it's a long time to wait, but you'll be able to get great deals at hotels/on cruises, and your $$ will go a little further...

WE are going on our honeymoon presidents week and it is costing us a small fortune. Its mainy the plane fair that is so high. Maybe if you travel for 4 or 5 days instead of the full week, you might be able to save some money......Good Luck searching. Our travel agent said Mexico and Jamaica are pretty cheap....we are going to St Lucia.
