I just read the worst reviews about the sandles in Antigua and that is where I am supposed to be going this Sept. I am ready to cancel it and book another trip. I read 8 different reviews and ony 1 was good. People were saying the place is dirty, pool is dirty, unfriendly staff, food *****, one couple even said there were cockroaches in there room!!! They changed rooms and they were in that one too. I am freaking out. I can cancel but I don't know where to go now. I can spend up to 6,500 maybe a little more. I want to go somewhere tropical that is lushious. Please give me some suggestions please!!

I don't know about where you're already booked, but I just went to Costa Rica 3 weeks ago and loved it. It's very rural and rustic, so it depends on where you go - there is an AMAZING 4 seasons resort there. My friend has gone 4 times, my boss bought a house there, my FH has gone twice with his friends to surf. I wouldn't be rash about changing, though! Were you on Trip Advisor? Did you check out the honeymoon board?
I did look into there at the Hyatt & radisson but I was really thrilled at what I saw. I want to try to find a place that is more lushious too then desert.
I also want the place to be all inclusive.
If you girls saw reviews like that would you change the honeymoon too?

Yeah I looked to trip advisor and they didn't have really good reviews either. Wow great pics!

Do you like cruises? They are pretty cheap and you can get something really nice. We are cruising to Bermuda which is really nice. However, depending on what you are looking for, you can get what you want. We are only paying $3000 for our trip (and we are getting a suite).
I would change it if there were a lot of bad reviews...don't set yourself up for a let down.

We went to Aruba and loved it! The whole island is incredible. The Hyatt is really nice and definitely had a luxurious feel. We stayed at the Wyndham and were very happy with our hotel.

We're also going to Bermuda, but not on a cruise. We have an all inclusive at a smaller, out-of-the-way place called Grotto Bay.
Our first choice was Cambridge Beaches but they were booked. It was more pricey than Grotto but definitely in your price range.
I've only ever heard wonderful things about Bermuda, that it's clean, safe to travel around in, beautiful. Also, it's a non-stop 2 hour flight from Kennedy! And it's actually east of South Carolina, not south of Florida so it's a bit cooler than the Carribean.

If you are just hearing bad things then change your plans! You don't need to worry about cockroaches for God's sakes!
I loved Puerto Rico - the Marriott in San Juan is amazing. I also really liked Couples Negril in Jamaica.
Bermuda is an easy trip and fun too! I go there often for Business. The Hamilton Princess is close to town - and it's sister hotel is the Southampton Princess - which you can reach directly by a ferry from the Hamilton Princess.
Do yourself a favor - change your plans. There are way too many beautiful places to go for your honeymoon!

Honestly, I went on Trip Advisor and changed my hotel because of the bad reviews, but we hadn't actually booked it yet, just changed what we had planned on. Will you lose money of you change, or can you apply it to another place?

I think I will loose the money for the insurance on the trip which was like 200 or a little more. I have to call my travel agent.

Are you turned off by the entire Sandals thing? If not maybe you can switch the hotel to one of their other resorts like St. Lucia?

I went to Sandals St. Lucia in Feb/March for my honeymoon.
We loved it. But they were doing some renovations while we were there. Sandals is not all out luxury (i.e. The Four Seasons) but it is very nice. Trip Advisor had mixed reviews prior to my honeymoon and I check after and they actually improved.
See if you can switch to another Sandals. I know that with St. Lucia you can stay at one and go to the other two, which is nice for variety.
