I just read the worst reviews about the sandles in Antigua and that is where I am supposed to be going this Sept. I am ready to cancel it and book another trip. I read 8 different reviews and ony 1 was good. People were saying the place is dirty, pool is dirty, unfriendly staff, food *****, one couple even said there were cockroaches in there room!!! They changed rooms and they were in that one too. I am freaking out. I can cancel but I don't know where to go now. I can spend up to 6,500 maybe a little more. I want to go somewhere tropical that is lushious. Please give me some suggestions please!!

don't worry so much.....we stayed at a great hotel in orlando and the reviews (which we read AFTER the trip) were horrible....we loved it. it was fantastic, clean, the staff was friendly and it was amazing. FI pointed out that some people just post poor reviews and could be the competition....and while you have to actually book a trip on most sites to write a review, you think the competition won't spend a few grand to steal away 20 customers (each worth a few grand or more) to their resort by making a phony review? it happens on this board here and there with 'fake brides' posting things to destroy vendors.

Also keep in mind that if someone has a really bad experience they're more likely to write a comment, compared to those who had good or great experiences. It could be that out of 100 guests only 1 had a bad experience, but that's the one that wrote it up. Another thing I have found is that some people just have unbelievable expectations. We went on a cruise and loved the food, but some people thought it was awful. If you eat in Il Mulino or other top restaurants every night it may not be your style, and likewise with hotels.
I normally don't write reviews, even if I'm blown away, but if something goes wrong I'm more likely to post something.

dude.. the people are trip advisor are NUTS!
I swear they must be the snobbiest people ever because I look on there everyytime I take a trip and they always say bad stuff and I always love it

We went to Sandals Grande in St. Lucia! Completely amazing! SO clean! And there are 2 other sandals resorts there that you can visit in St. Lucia.

How about one of the other Sandals resorts? I'm going to the Bahamas and I've heard wonderful reviews about this place (a few bad but more about people having too much to drink and getting sick, etc). A few of us are going here and others are going to the ones in Jamaica!

There are 50/50 reviews about the sandles in Antigua. 1 person even posted pics and the bathroom was so gross!! The bathtub was so dirty and the floors were gross. Some people say it is nice but very out dated and run down looking and I really don't want to spend all this money and have my room look like that.
Then there were some pics that didn't look bad at all. I don't know what to do I am so confused and still freaking out a little. I have to book something very soon!
