FH and I are having a hard time deciding between a honeymoon. Since we both work in schools, our vacation time is limited to school vacations. (normally no complaints here!)We would go away during Christmas vacation for 7 days, but everything is double priced because of the time of year, so we are limited where we can go. Right now our travel agent has steered us towards the Hilton Payago-All Inclusive in Costa Rica, or Sandal Montego Bay Jamaica. Has anyone been to either resort or area? Both places have very mixed reviews, and I'm torn (FH has his mind and heart set on Jamaica). TIA.
Edit: Anyone been to Punta Cana? I'm all over the place, sorry!!
I've been to a resort in Montego bay but not sandals. The area is beautiful and very close to the airport! Ive been to a Sandals resort before as well and can honestly say they treat all of their guests as royalty!! I would vote that but I've never been to Costa Rica so I'm biased

we are going to Sandals ocho rios beach is nicer than montego bay. We really wanted negril but it was too much.

Not a big fan of Jamaica, went there and wasn't happy. I heard Costa Rica is beautiful though.

Yeah, for the time of year we are going Montego Bay is our more affordable option, and the resort looks beautiful and I like that I can take a shuttle to 2 other Sandals. I never realized how much more expensive traveling over Christmas would be. If we could take off from work, we would going to Hawaii. I know Costa Rica is supposed to be beautiful too, just a matter of finding the right hotel there, which is harder than we thought. Thanks for your inputs!

A co worker is staying at the riu palace in Costa Rica. Jamaica is nice, we went last year for my birthday...we stayed in Runaway bay very low end but had a blast still!

Originally that hotel was recommended but we changed the dates due to cost and the hotel changed with it. I'm all over the place with this honeymoon. Haha thanks

Sandals all the way!!!! I haven't gone to the Jamaica resort but I've read great reviews. My brother however said he wouldn't go back to Jamaica because he was hounded by drug dealers every time he went down to the beach. Something to think about but I honestly think sandals is a great choice.

I stayed at the Iberostar Grand Rose Hall in Montego Bay and it was gorgeous. No complaints about the place. They have security on the beach to make sure that no one comes in that does not belong there so no one will harass you to buy drugs.
