FH and I have come up with a US roadtrip for the honeymoon. We have plotted out a course that would have less than 6 hours of driving every day except for 2 days.
New York DC Raleigh, NC Atlanta, GA New Orleans (2 days) Nashville, TN (2 days) Chicago, IL Toronto Montreal (2 days) Boston New York
I might be forgetting something, but thats it off the top of my head. This is a VERY 'us' thing to do.
Any thoughts or suggestions? FH should be able to get an employee discount at Wyndham hotels, so we should be able to get our hotel for $25 a night in most cities.

I think it's an awesome idea!! We did a road trip down to DC, NC, and ended up in GA and then back up to NY. We were on the way home when we realized that we wanted to get married!!

That sounds like a lot of fun. The only other place I can think of is Ocean City, Maryland. It a cute beach town and there's tons to do. If you go, you have to go to Seacrets, it's my favorite place out there.

This sounds like fun and the time of year you guys want to do it is great. Have you been to any of those places that you mentioned you are interested in going? New Orleans is supposed to be a real happening city and I bet you will have fun there. I always loved DC. I love all the museums there. Chicago is also a fun city too. There's shopping, museums and more. Montreal and Toronto are great cities, a lot of culture, museums and fun. Boston is one of my favorite cities. I love shopping there.

Sounds great! One recommendation is coming back from Canada get to Plattsburgh, NY and cross Lake Champlain to Burlington Vermont. what a darling little city. From vermont just hit all the New England States - Maine, NH and def. stop in Newport RI. Gotta love all the mansions! You also have an excuse to hit Foxwoods on your way home

Check Expedia for hotels, I went to new orleans in March and got a great deal! If you want a quiet romantic hotel, try the ones in the garden district if you want hopping and fun stay around burbon (we stayed on burbon and conti - it was quiet and close to the action and the hotel was really quaint) Nashville, check out Opryland hotel it is hte most amazing place I have ever stayed, its like its own world!!! Montreal is gorgeous just walk around and enjoy Toronto is supposed to be a really fun city to go to as well!
Good Luck! (I agree, if possible -and if it suits your taste, Try to see Quebec City its supposed to be GORGEOUS and really historic in feel!)

Donna I love Newport too. Those mansions are beautiful. I went to URI and went to Newport all the time. Foxwoods is fun too!
