I'm getting married in July 2010. I know we have some time but I love thinking about everything. I just started thinking about our honeymoon. We are looking for a place that has a cute town (restaurants.shops) as well as beaches. Any ideas. I would like to relax but also like the idea of a nightlife. What are my 2010 brides thinking?

Hawaii is a great option b/c of the beaches, towns andsights. I went to Maui last year and it was the best trip ever!

Don;t underestimate DIsney world!! It's awesome! Even though we've gone once a year for the past three years, FH and I still would consider incorporating it into the honeymoon. Also, my sis and BIL went to Excellence Playa Mujeres this past october, and RAVED about it. So we may look into that as well.

Hawaii is great but just keep in mind that all the islands are different. We visited Maui and Kauai. Maui had a lot of tours and things to do and some night life while Kauai was very secluded and quiet. We didnt venture out here.
Also, the beaches there are very rough and have a lot of coral. We only walked on the beach while we were there, the water was too rough to go in.
You should try Aruba.....DH and I are going there for our 1 year anniversary and I heard from a lot of people that it is very well rounded. It has nightlife and the beaches are beautiful.
FM me if you want more info.

We would love to go to the beaches in Europe - like the Spanish or French Riviera - so we can spend a few days sightseeing and the rest relaxing!

Re: honeymoon ideas?
My brother LOVED Iceland and the springs..enjoy!!
I am going to the Greek Islands (we wanted to do Europe again but already did Italy and France! Toss up between Spain and Greece...Greece won)
BUT if you were looking for a town like the one you described, Old San Juan in Puerto Rico came to mind right away. I loved it there!! Like a European town but a lot of fun too!!
You could always do Canada. Montreal always made me think I was in France and it has a Great Casino! no beaches though!
