honeymoon ideas

FH & I aren't going on our HM right away, but I'd like to book it right away.

We're staying in the United States... I do not fly.....

We like woodsy things (but NOT HEAT and we are probably going in the summer)...country settings.. Amishness... playing sports, lots of activities...historical settings.

Any ideas?? Are there any honeymoon resorts, romantic resorts, or themed resorts in the US or the southern parts of Canada?

We're considering doing a few days at a couple of resorts...unless one has enough stuff to satisfy us for two weeks lol

i'm not sure if this is driving distance or not, but i've been here before and it's absolutely beautiful! we stayed here for a week and then went to the one in quebec city for a few days and it was awesome!

omg mohonk is my fav place!

go there for like 2 days..hike etc and then go north to stay somewhere for another few days :)

I agree about the cruise out of New York...

What Cape Cod. There is so much to do there and it is gorgeous. We stayed at a wonderful B and B called the Captain's House Inn. Couldn't recommend it more.
Also what a about a road trip from NYC to Florida where you stop at all the historic sites and other attractions along the way. Did this when i was a kid and it was great.
Finally, a cruise to Canada or the Caribbean out of NYC might be fun.

You can do hiking in Lake George...and so much more. I Lake George!
