I didnt go for my honeymoon...but FH and I went to Maui last year and loved it. It was just amazing. I would stay in Kaanapali if you want to do more than just lounge on the beach...it's central to everything and really nice hotels there. Grand Wailea in Wailea is also beautiful...but not as central as Kaanapali.

I havent been to Kuai...but my friend lives in hawaii and highliy recommends it.

We went to Hawaii and lovvvved it!! We went for ten days to Oahu, Maui, and Kuaui. We stayed at the Hyatt on all three and got the free breakfast and a discounted room rate. There are so many things to do...

Oahu- more like a city; our least favorite island...we hiked up DIamond Head Mountain...and great shopping!!

Maui- went to a luau (Old Lahaina luau-book early as they get booked up quickly!!!), drove the Road to Hana; went jetskiing; went on a plantation tour and to Mount Haleokula (sp) to see the sunrise and rode bicycles down the mountain If you scrapbook there is the most amazing Hawaii scrapbook store off of Route 30....

Kuaui- saw the Spouting Horn, hiked Wamea Canyon, took a dinner boat tour of the Na' a pali coast (where they filmed Jurassic Park- it was beautiful!!).
We booked our inter-island flights through GO! Airlines, via our travel agent, Christina at Ship to Shore. She was excellent...if you go, definitely give her a call at 631.754.1802

We went to hawaii for our honeymoon, We went to maui and kaua'i. A lot of people go to oahu to see pearl harbor, we opted not to do that but it's a really short plane ride between the islands so if you'd like to do it might be worth it. In Kaua'i we stayed at the hyatt regency (loved it) and in Maui we stayed at the Fairmont Kea Lani, didn't love it so much. If you have any questions feel free to FM me and I 110% recommend travel tom as a travel agent. He got us an awesome deal on our trip.

We just got back from Hawaii this Friday!
We stayed 5 nights in Maui at the Four Seasons. It was HEAVEN on earth. Our favorite places to eat were Nick's Fishmarket, Spago and Ferraro's. For lunch we checked out a few local places included Da Kitchen which is where you can get authentic Hawaiian food. We had breakfast one morning at the Kihei Cafe which is a surfer spot right across the street from the beach.

Kauai was beautiful. We stayed at the Grand Hyatt and IMO, it was really busy at the pool area and lots of families there on vacations. Kind of noisy but the property itself is very pretty. Our favorite restaurant was Roy's. The best sunset restaurant was The Beachhouse. My Favorite food of all time in Hawaii was Shave Ice! Make sure you get it with Macadamia nut ice cream on the bottom. So good!!!

In Kaanapali(sp?) there is the Hyatt which is gorgeous. In Maui, which I may go to is the Four Seasons which is gorgeous, The Fairmont and the Grand Wailea. They are all beautiful hotels. we are trying to plan our honeymoon as well and are thinking about stopping in San Francisco or San Diego for two nights to break up the flight. I got pricing for the Hyatt and the Maui hotels this weekend for July 2009. FM me for details.
