FH wants to go to Italy, I am trying to convince him to go to Bahamas....he's afraid he'll be bored there for 2 weeks... any other suggestions or should I just suck it up and go to Italy?Thanks everyone!

I say DEF Italy- But then again I am not afraid to fly. I know someone who would not even fly to Fl. for her honeymoon. She doesn't fly period. She and her husband rented an RV and drove down South for their honeymoon.. just to avoid flying.

I dont fly either, the only way is I get drunk, which I did, I went to Mexico, which is a 3 1/2 hr flight, the way home was rough but I made it, my advice drink ALOT or take a pill

I am nervous about flying these days, but I love to travel. Something that will help is something you can get from any herbal store like GNC, maybe even at a pharmacy. It's called Melatonin. It's a natural relaxant, llike the prescription Xanax. I just learned about it this weekend. I heard many good things about it. This will alleviate any nervousness you may have. Just take it about 1 hour before flying.
So I guess my suggestion is go to Italy. It's a good experiece, with loads of culture and great shopping and food.

Definitely don't go to Bahamas for two weeks. You will get bored. I travel a lot, and even though I am not afraid to fly, I still get a little scared on a plane. You have to face your fears, and you wont regret it once you get to your destination. Or another option if your really set on not flying is a cruise out of New York or New Jersey. Good Luck!!

I absolutely positively HATE to fly.. but, I've been to Italy and Spain and Austria and it's really not that bad. And I'm flying to Vegas next week. My best advice... drink up or take something to knock you out. That's what I do! Italy is so beautiful!! If you have the opportunity to go there I would definitely take it!

Italy would be Fantastic, but, if the long flight really bothers you (I'm not fond of flying either), Bermuda is only about an hour and a half flight from NY. You spend almost the whole flight ascending and descending.

Thanks girls.... I thought about Bermuda... I have flown a ton, 6 hours is my MAX, and I swore I would never do that again,,... but maybe I just need to suck it up. What do you guys think about Italy for honeymoon? Too much touristy stuff to do? I'm afraid we wont spend anytime relaxing!

try a cruise - they go to lots of different ports and there are ships leaving out of ny this way he wont be bored and you wont have to fly

I don't like to fly, we are taking a direct flight- costs more but don't know what else to do.
Why don't you take a cruise out of nyc or dc? They go to different ports so you won't get bored for 2 weeks.

I hate flying too. I went to a hypnotist and it worked great. I even got a tape that put me into a trance on the plane. I also got Xanax from my MD. I say go for Italy!!!

I hate flying but I hate boats even more. I just suck it up--I used to have to fly a lot for my last job, and hated every minute of it.

I totally understand how you feel. My FH and I are taking a cruise for our Honeymoon, which leaves out of New York to the Bahamas. I don't need any extra tension on my wedding day. There are quite a few cruises that leave out of New York. I've taken a cruise to Bermuda, and it was really nice. I know there are also cruises to Canada, and Nova Scotta, which leave from New York. You should look into it. My FH and I love crusing.

My DH wouldn't fly. So it put a damper on anything I wanted to do for our honeymoon. But then we came up with a great idea. We both love road trips, so we drove cross country for our honeymoon. It was the absolute best trip I have ever taken. We got to see a LOT of our beautiful country and there was soooo much to see. We rented a big ford expedition so we would be nice and comfy. We planned out things in certain states that we wanted to see. It was great. We plan to do it again one day and see stuff that we didn't get aroound to. I definitley reccomend a trip like this. It was so great traveling around the US with my new hubby!!

I'm willing to fly up to 4 hours.... thank god we have a few months before we make any decisions.... I just feel guilty for being afraid!! But thanks so much for the advice girls!
