Now I need honeymoon help. Because we're going during a school break I only have about 8 days for our honeymoon. That rules out Hawaii and as much as we'd love to go to Europe, we want to relax mostly and not feel pressured to sight-see all the time. We came across Nevis and Cap Juluca in our research and they seemed promising. The problem is that Nevis is sounding a little too isolated and Cap Juluca is sounding muy expensivo!! Can anyone recommend something in between? We like the idea of somewhat remote but we don't want to be bored all day, every day either, nor can we afford a $10,000 honeymoon at this point and certainly not for only 8 days.
Any and all suggestions are very welcome!

Dominican Republic or Curacao. I have been to both and they were great. You can get really good deals on all inclusive vacations in the Dominican Republic. the Bavaro resorts in Punta Cana are great.
Try Secrets Excellence in Mexico. 9 nights in a Jr. suite is about 5K and it's all inclusive. It got rave reviews here. So it would cost less for less nights! FM me if you need more info!

Re: Honeymoon - need suggestions please
Sadly no cruises b/c my fh is a bit claustrophobic and doesn't want to take a chance on our honeymoon.
Mexico is tough b/c it's spring break time and cancun will be crazy. Not really our scene.
I feel like there is an issue with everything we look at Please keep the ideas coming. I really appreciate the help.

Re: Honeymoon - need suggestions please
I just did a quick search for you on Expedia..
I'm not sure what dates you want to use for your honeymoon, but I searched for the day after your wedding..
1 week trip; Flight included (from JFK); 4 star hotel...
Paris... start at $1937 and go up to $4442...
Venice... start at $3215 and go up to $4437...
Madrid.. $2606 up to $4008
i have no idea what your budget is... but i just want to show you that you can still go to europe (if that's your dream honeymoon) for not too expensive!!
try expedia... that what i used to find these trips...
believe me, you can still do a LOT on a budget!
hope that helps

Re: Honeymoon - need suggestions please
I am doing the same thing - married the same day as you & honeymooning over the school vacation - such is life as a teacher!
We are seriously considering a cruise - I have cruised before, and the cabin was really tiny - def. not good if you're claustrophobic!
But when I looked at Royal Caribbean's website, and looked at the rooms with an outside cabin, and a balcony - they are alot bigger than what I had years ago....check it out - it could work if you really want to go that route........

Re: Honeymoon - need suggestions please
I have been to Dominican Republic twice. I stayed in Puerto Plata in April '05, and Punta Cana in Feb'06. Both places were great. Stuff to do during the days, shows at the hotels at night, not expensive at all. We payed under $2000 all together for the two of us for Puerto Plata and under $2200 for Punta Cana. They were both all inclusive for 8 days, 7 nights.
FM me if you want any hotel info or anything. Good luck!
