That was a shark! We took a speedboat over to Isla Mujeres , right across from the resort, and they had a shark you could get in with!

Upon check in they give you a HM card good for one time use for a 'romantic dinner', they give you a bottle of sparkling wine and put some rose petals on the table. Chez Isabelle isthe french restaurant there, there is like 7 restaurants. That is definitely the most romantic one. The bottle is sort of silly since it's all included anyway

I think Tulum might be closer, so we were going to do that one. The guy at Oympus TOurs though said that if we were going to do, it, see the 'real deal', i.e. chichen itza. It's not just that pyramid, it sprawls out over several acres with lots of cool remains (a game stadium, an observatory, a marketplace, other buildings) carvings, and history. DH really was not looking forward to such a long trip but they put you on a nice big AC'd bus, give you beer, water, snacks and even tequila shots if you want hahaha. It took us about 2.5 hours but you stop at a Mayan shop on the way. Anyway, DH is SO happy we went, he is so fascinated by the incredibility of the history and how much stuff they knew, he came home and borrowed like 10 books on the Mayans from the library!

So IMO it was totally worth it, I highly recommend going with Olympus Tours.... you will learn such crazy stuff about them. I could go on and on about all the strange/freaky/crazy stuff they had and did. We also met some cool people on the bus so the ride wasn't horrible. You stop for lunch and swimming at a really neat cenote on the way back as well.

Thanks so much for writing all that! I really wanted to do it, but DH was hesitant because of the long trip. I made him read this and now he says that he is interested!!!

Oh good! I am a big history buff so that was the one thing I really wanted to do. DH and I are now convinced the Mayans really were aliens/learned from aliens like in Indiana Jones THey still don't know why they are all born with the same birthmark and why it disappears around puberty (even the mayan descendants today) and how they built perfectly straight, parallel roads from one city to another hundreds of miles apart!
