FH and I started pricing out HM's and he thinks the prices are astronomical.... that's what led to this question. I am trying to see if our range is in the same as most others or if we are looking in the wrong places/with the wrong agents.

Re: HONEYMOON POLL!
Our original HM was 3 weeks in New Zealand and Fiji, the total cost including EVERYTHING was 15,043 & change...
Hmm, retirement trip maybe?
Our HM plans right now are ten night in Jamaica - 5star private resort, all inclusive, etc etc...
Including taxes, gratuity, flights, travel insurance, the stay, and some activities, the grand total is a little less than 8.
and yes, prices are astronomical but I guess it goes along the lines of you-get-what-you-pay-for to some extent. Sure there were plenty of cheaper resorts but we wanted to make sure that we did not have to complain about anythinggggg haha.
Check out TripAdvisor and see if a few places jump out at you.
Good luck! Happy planning!

Re: HONEYMOON POLL!
We haven't officially booked our honeymoon yet but we're thinking of doing either 2 weeks in Australia/New Zealand or 10-12 days in Bali and maybe one other southeast asian country.
I'm not sure how much this is going to cost us but we're not taking our honeymoon until almost 4 months after we're getting married (so we'll have some gift money to use). Plus, FH and I both have Starwood Points American Express cards that we've been using to pay for everything So the plan is we'll have to pay for food, flights, and excursions but all our hotels we should be able to use points for

Re: HONEYMOON POLL!
We booked back-to-back cruises on Royal Caribbean. FH doesn’t fly so my HM options were limited. We’re leaving from NY (well, Cape Liberty NJ actually) and doing a 5 day cruise to Bermuda and then (on the same ship), doing a 10 day cruise to the Eastern Caribbean (St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Haiti and Puerto Rico). It came to about $3100. That doesn’t include alcohol or any excursions that we do in any of those locations.
I thought that was a great deal. Even if we spend $1000 on alcohol and excursions, we’re still under $5K and it’s a 15 day HM.
HTH!

Re: HONEYMOON POLL!
we looked into st lucia - flights included - in the luxury suite with plunge pool and whirlpool outside and butler service was almost $16K that was for 10 nights all inclusive.
I am looking into tahiti and should have prices today for that... and i know it will be expensive, but at least it will probably be less than that. BUT - not all inclusive.
I was thinking - we could always lessen the stay, or downgrade the room etc... we have options... but 16k is CRAZZY!
someoen was telling me aboutthe iberostar grand in mexico too... i priced that out and that wasn't nearly as expensive, and it was also all inclusive

Definitely check out reviews before booking anything though
The most expensive part of tahiti is going to be the flights unfortunately :-/ And please down grade the room instead of cutting down the time!!! If you're able to get the time off from work without any problems extending the stay is always a better option than upgrading the room... you won't be spending TOO much time in there anyway

Re: HONEYMOON POLL!
we really wanted to do bora bora but that's going to be like 10k ++! so after we put a schedule together of how much our wedding is going to be, this is pretty much unrealistic. So now we're looking into Hawaii, British Virgin Islands or somewhere in the carribeans. i just want to do something completely different cuz FH and I are always hitting up the carribeans

Re: HONEYMOON POLL!
I haven't done much researching but I'm going to put myself somewhere in the middle around $7,000-$9,000.
We really wanted to go to Greece but after talking it over we don't know if we want to travel that far/long. We may change our minds back again and that means our budget will go up but right now we are thinking caribbean area.

Re: HONEYMOON POLL!
We are going to try for less than 5, if anything we might go just a little over. But definetly nothing over 6,000.

I definitely wouldn't lessen the stay in tahiti... in st lucia maybe do a week instead of 10 nights. etc..

$16K?!?!?!? WHOAAA that is totally crazy.. I mean you did look up a pretty kick arse room.
When we booked the Regency was giving 60% off the stay and a free night, so we got a really great deal.
Did you talk w/ a travel agent?? If so go back and push on them as to when some deals will be available.
We originally looked at the Sandals Grande and for everything that we got at the Regency it was like $4K more then what we are now getting!!!!

Re: HONEYMOON POLL!
we already priced out our Honeymoon and it's under $5000 for all-inclusive 7 day, beachfront suite in Jamaica. Only extra money we would need to be bring would be for purchasing gifts.

yeah its crazy expensive. I got that price from a travel agent lol thats the sick part - i went online afterwards and it was around the same price. so i couldn't get it cheaper myself.
I think i might have to scratch the sandals idea...

Re: HONEYMOON POLL!
We did a 9-night cruise out of New Jersey to Bermuda, St. Maarten, St. Thomas and Puerto Rico with a balcony room...came to $3600, then we spent ~$1000 more on souveniers and excursions and such.
