Ok I have been around the world and back and one of the few places in the Caribbean I haven't visited is DR...which city is better to visit? Which resort? Help...my wedding is 6 months away and I need to finalize! Thanks
2nd choice is Aruba 3rd choice is a cruise
I've done Hawaii, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, Barbados, St. Marteen, St. Lucia to name a few - not returning overseas due to terrorism and I'm not up for longhauls on the honeymoon (unless its Cairo or Sydney).

You know I love Aruba! But for the DR, I have never been, but I hear Punta Cana is really nice.

Secrets Resorts for couples only in Punta Cana...5 star resort, VERY affordable.....

We got engaged in Puerto Plata this past July. We stayed at the Hilton Marien and it was very nice, however not nice at all once you left the resort. We probably would not return to Puerto Plata. I hear phenomenal things about Punta Cana though and we may consider it for our honeymoon.

I just got back from Punta Cana last week. We stayed at the Allegro Occidental. It was a very nice resort - not much to do when you leave the resort though.

Definitely Punta Cana. It's the best tourist area in the Dominican Republic.

My sister and I went to Puerta Plata and I thought it was way too quiet. I heard Punta Cana is better.

Put me down for Punta Cana and Melia Caribe. Its a REAL nice and affordable place. Not sure if this aspect has changed though, and thats the lack of local nightlife outside of the resort. But thats a small nit.

Me and FH are going to Secrets in Punta Cana. It looks gorgeous and I have heard nothing but great reviews from MarcellaBella and it is so affordable.

WOW!!I can't believe how many ladies are going there!!! That is SOO awesome!!! You guys are going to love it.. nothing better than having a fabulous honeymoon, without spending a fortune and having to dig into your pocket for something every two seconds!!
You guys better take the professional pics and take tons of pics and give full reviews!!!

We actually watched a wedding there from our balcony window.. it was gorgeous!!!
