Honeymoon Question...

Original post by SeptBride70

This is a random one but...

I was thinking, since Vin might be getting accepted to Med School earlier than we originally planned-- how many of you are doing your HM's right away and how many of you are waiting?

Vinny and I scheduled ours right away but took full Insurance so that if something came up we could always just push the vaca back to whenever he had free.

Now that he is doing really well and taking his M-CATS soon he might get accepted which means no bueno on the HM... Which means we would have to push it off.

Just wondering how common this is. I'm kind of sad but understand that we need to do what's best for him.

LOL! You think they'll 'frown upon' that?!

I don't know-- I think they would welcome her peacing out for two weeks RIGHT at the beginning of school-- Who knows, maybe she'll even be able to miss out on Meet The Creature night!

I'll never forget-- my sister is a teacher and my Grandmother died like RIGHT before the first day of school- she had to rush from school to make the funeral because that's how strict they were with taking days off

Considering the crap they gave teachers stranded by the wonderful airlines over winter break, i think they might be just a little peavish.

Yeah, they're pretty rough about days off. They actually go back to work to start prepping for the year the week before the wedding, so we'll see how nice the principal is then.

we're going right away and needed to b/c FH is starting his residency in June.

i've been thru the whole med school deal with FH so if you have any questions or just wanna vent let me know

omg lol sometimes i feel like i want to vent daily!

but it's hard b/c it's not his fault-- ya know?

it's just the way it is-- so there's nothing i can do but be supportive...

it's hard though

sometimes it's great, and sometimes you want to punch him in the head - esp the second year of med school - if Vin is anything like my FH he did not leave the apt b/c he had to study - he studied all day and all night - that meant no going out to dinner or parties, I went to weddings by myself, etc. it completely sucked. But it all paid off, he's graduating in 3 weeks top of his class and doing his residency at Harvard in Neurosurgery... so I guess all of my complaining and going nuts was worth it. I am so proud of him and what he's accomplished.

Good luck to you guys! it's def worth it but to be the 'supportive wife' thru it is just as hard sometimes...

Re: Honeymoon Question...

I think that's very common now for couples to have to wait to take their honeymoons. FH and I are going to Riviera Maya for 5 days right after the wedding because he can't take much time off of work. Then in June 2008 (7 mths after our wedding) we're going to Greece for two weeks.

Re: Honeymoon Question...

We would like to take one right away, but as the wedding gets closer, we probably can't take it until October/November.

Mainly because of the time we have to take off to get to and from NY. And not to mention..money is getting a leeeeeeetle tight round these parts.

We'll see...we'll definitely take one. Just a matter of when.
