I have been trying to figure out what we are going to do for our honeymoon. The problem is I have a feeling that FH is still going to be in school because we are going to get married in the begining of Dec. We always go on tropical vacations because my dad lives in Dominican Republic and we are there every year so I wanted to do something totally different. We decided to wait until spring or summer and go to Europe because I don't think we will enjoy it as much in the winter time.
Soooo... my question is what can we do for a long weekend after the wedding. I was thinking a hotel room, play, dinner and drinks in Manhatten. FH suggested the poconos, maybe ceasers palace, a little skiing which would be nice also. What would you guys suggest??

If you guys like to ski, I think doing that is a great idea. It is perfect for a weekend trip. See if you can find a ski resort with a spa, so you can have some relaxing time too!!!

If you want to do the poconos, i would suggest sky top instead. The place is amazing and on 5500 acres of land. Theres an inn, a lodge and private beautiful cabins. Theres a shuttle that can take you from one location to another. Theres a lake, skiing, spa and many many activities such as ice skating, a golf course, rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, and lots more. They have different themes for different weeks. The place is absolutely gorgeous. DH and I have been 3x and loved it. The food is very good too and breakfast, lunch and dinner is included in the price so keep that in mind when you see the prices
here is the website, and if you are going around christmas time they have alot of x-mas themes, each week there is a different one
The Poconos was a fun trip... FH and I went stayed at one of the Caesar's resorts for our first weekend away together. It's def a little cheesey (hello heart shaped tub!) but we had a good time.

What about a B&B and wine tasting? You can do that in the Fingerlakes region of NY.

if you like skiing, you should go to salt lake city. it's so easy to go for a long weekend. not that long of a flight, and all the ski resorts are 30 min from the airport. plus, it won't be too too cold like vt and you will have guaranteed snow!
eta: jet blue flies direct there and it's not that expensive!

Dh and I got married on Memorial Day weekend, and we're teachers... so we only had a few days. We wentto a B&B on Shelter Island, and it was perfect.
eta: just checked your wedding date. What about Vermont or the Poconos for a few days?

I have been to couple of the Caesars resorts and the best on by far is Cove Haven. I had lots of fun there. Great for a long weekend

I was thinking the same thing, regarding Ceasars Palace poconos. FH and I went there w/my friend and LIW 08 bride and her husband. We had a blast. You should get the champagne glass jacuzzi
