Honeymoon question, maybe more for those who've already been on theirs...

Honeymoon question, maybe more for those who've already been on theirs...

FH and I are not very, how do I describe it, mushy couple-y. I don't know if that describes it. We're very much friends on-top of being in love and we like to have a good time without being cheesey mushy all over eachother all of the time. My question is this, did anyone find that when they went to a resort that catered to honeymooners that it was full of really cheesey couples? or do you not even pay attention to everyone else? We want to have that type of resort type feel, but without all the annoying other couples! I hope that doesn't sound beothcy, sorry!

I'm sorry, we just aren't smoosh mushy all of the time! We really want an all inclusive place that caters to honeymooners, but I guess my question is more, are these places full of annoying couples? This question must sound so bad, I'm sorry, I don't mean to offend anyone. We're just not that type....

I think there's a difference between cheesy and affectionate. I don't mind affectionate, I mind cheesy (though we're guilty of it ourselves sometimes).

Our HM wasn't the typical resort trip - we weren't anywhere that catered particularly to honeymooners, but we did enjoy meeting some other couples/honeymooners along the way.

rachel, don't feel bad, it was a JOKE
But to answer your question, when we went to the Bahamas, we stayed at Superclubs, and it was adult only - mostly all couples, and the couples weren't so bad.
There was a lot of holding hands and stuff, but I wouldn't say tooo mushy.
But Len and I tend not to pay too much attention to those around us when we're vacationing. You probably won't either. You'll be on a high from your wedding.

Oh, we are totally affectionate, but we have had experiences where we go out with other couples and they are over the top. We also have friends who have gone to places like Sandals and had annoying couples on their heels the whole time. That is why I am asking. Not to mention, cheesey is fine, but in moderation. I should have followed my better judgement and not asked this question. Sorry....

Just to add, my concern isn't SEEING other people being all mushy, my lord, we will be that couple! I think I'm not explaining myself well today. My question is more, do the other couples there want to be all buddy buddy, or do people keep to themselves a lot?

ah, now I understand better. We didn't run into any buddy-buddy couples. I would think honeymooners would be more likely to keep to themsleves.

PHEW! Ok, I'm glad that my ACTUAL point is a little clearer now. Reading the original post, you would think FH and I are just friends! Haha. Sorry, sorry. It's the sickness, it's going to my head...

Oh, I think I see clearer now too.
I think everyone mostly keeps to themselves on the vacations I've been on.
If you constantly see another couple, then they'll probably say hi, but I never really got into the whole Buddy-buddy deal.......

I haven't HM'd yet...but we did go to Sandals St Lucia about 5 years ago. We were actually 'shunned' by the group of HM'ers that arrived when we did - once they found out we were *only* vacationing. Which was fine by us cause we didn't really want to bother with anyone else. We did, however, spend some time with 1 other couple and it was fun.

I think it's really what you make of it. You can avoid those types of crowds or participate. I wouldn't be too concerned.

I dont know if my answer will actually apply as I havent gone on my honeymoon yet but when FI and I do go away we tend to just be in our own world. Just me and him laughing, joking around, playing games, shopping and just enjoying being away.

Do we see other couples being all mushy mushy, sometimes. We see other couples doing just about the same thing as us, being in their own world and having fun.

Once in a while you do find the over the top all over each other, i cant live without you, you complete me, dont ever leave me couple, and we just smile and go about our merry way.

I really don't care if other people are slobbering on eachother in public, really! That's great for them! I was just curious is the couples that people encountered were gung ho about hanging out together. Just because people I know have had this happen. I'm a mush! I swear! Part of the reason I ask, too, is that people I know who have gone to Sandals say that in the restaurants, you sometimes end up eating with other people at your table, even if you don't want to. Call us elitist! We just want to be left alone! I'm a meanie.

LOL

You're not a meanie, we do the same thing. We just want to be left alone. If we want to have friends on the vacation we would have brought our own with us
