HONEYMOON RAVE!

Tom Varghese ([email protected]) is definitely AMAZING! He was extremely attentive to all of our needs and our budget. His personal experience in choosing a honeymoon was indispensable. He gave us his 3 favorite resorts to chose from based on our input. Just tell him exactly what you're looking for and he'll find it for you. We highly recommend him and we'll definitely use him for our future trips.
So you know we'll spend 5 nights at Couples Swept Away and 5 nights at Couples Sans Souci in Jamaica :)

I emailed TravelTom yesterday and haven't heard back yet. How long does it usually take for him to contact you? (I realize that I emailed him on a Friday evening, but I'm ready to start planning here!)

Im not sure where he is located, but he does work for AMEX and he works with you over the phone and by email.

Im not sure where he is located, but he does work for AMEX and he works with you over the phone and by email.

I believe he's in DE. Not 100% sure, but I know it's not NY. He does work for Amex. He's absolutely wonderful! We will be using him to book our 1st Anniversary trip. I will never work with another TA. We had an amazing HM thanks to him.

He does work for American Express. You don't need an amex card to book your hm, and he does not charge a fee for his services. He is located in MD and does everything over email & phone. When we booked with him, FH and I conference called with Tom and were in front of our computers. We told Tom what we were looking for and our budget and Tom took us through a few websites of places....he was very up front, told us the perks and the downfalls of each place. FH and I then told him what we liked and didn't like based on what we saw on the sites. Anyway, after going through this 'journey' with Tom, FH and I decided on our HM. Tom is very budget conscious...he took a few a few days to get back to us trying to get us a good deal and was more worried about our budget than FH & I were. We can't wait to go on our HM to St. Lucia (Jade Mountain) that was booked through travel tom.

After reading all the overwhelmingly postive reviews of Tom we contacted him for our HM. In the end we did not use Tom to book our trip. Based on what I read on the boards, I just assumed Tom would have the best places to stay and lowest prices. For our honeymoon his initial rates were $1500 more than what we found on line. He appeared offended that we questioned the price, but then later apologized, admitted that his vendor had made an error and came back with a better deal. After a lot of back and forth (FM if you want details), we learned that for some locations Tom does not represent all hotels in the area. In our experience, he only recommended and could book us in places that he represented, which were not aligned with the places we wanted to stay.

I don't doubt that he has booked some great HMs for many on this board. I just wanted to share our experience as a lesson that like with all vendors, do your homework and ask questions....

Couples San Souci is amazing and intimate. You will absolutely love it. I haven't been to Swept Away, but I heard all of the Couples Resorts ae fantastic!!
