honeymoon registry

honeymoon registry

FH and I were thinking of registering for our honeymoon. We have heard some things that we are worried about like a processing fee and sites charging a lot more than the actual cost if you were too book an excursion yourself. What have you heard? Are there any that you can recommend? Thanks

I thought about this, but the fees can kill you. Hope people give you some money.

My coworker did this and they didn't receive the money until 3 weeks AFTER they got back from their honeymoon - and apparently it was a big Pain in the A**...I think she used 'The Honeymoon registry' company.

Personally, I think it is a great idea, and it is easy for guests, especially if they are traveling to attend your shower, since it fits in a little gift card....but just to caution you - after going to a friend's shower in March, my mom and a few other people around her age thought it was the TACKIEST thing ever. They were saying if you can't afford your honeymoon you shouldn't take it and were offended that the couple registered. Maybe your guests will feel differently, but I think some old school people still feel this way.

I don't know anyone who has done it. We thought about it, but we decided not to because we had heard horror stories, plus 40% of the funds received goes toward fees.
