How many of you are setting up a honeymoon registry? I'm torn on the issue. Don't really know how I feel about it. A friend of mine who got married last year did it, and I thought it was a good idea. But, my aunt and grandmother think it looks tacky, like asking for cash. What do you all think?

Re: Honeymoon Registry
I am definitely setting one up because we already have much of the items listed on standard registries (FH and I own separate homes and moved in together so now we have 2-3 sets of houseware stuff).
There is another thread that has great advice on comparing different honeymoon packages and how to set it up. My main problem is that my guests won't really know about the HM Registry because I'm not planning to have a bridal shower so they will have to figure it out by word of mouth.

Re: Honeymoon Registry
i dont think its tacky especially bc you can set it up for things for your honeymoon. The person can pick to pay for a certain excursion, romantic dinner, etc so its not like just asking them for cash.

Re: Honeymoon Registry
We aren't doing one because we really need the things on our registries...but my Mom is letting people who ask about a different sort of gift know that they can buy us onboard credits for the HM (we're taking a cruise)

Re: Honeymoon Registry
we were torn about it b/c our mothers both thought that it was tacky. My mom even said that she wouldn't put the info about it in the invite b/c she was so against it. When it was all said and done my mom included the info and a few people have even said that they thought it was a good idea after receiving the invite.
We set up a BBB registry too so that people that were against the honeymoon thing had other options.

Re: Honeymoon Registry
We are most likely doing one b/c we already have a house & all of our things are pretty new...not many hand-me-downs. We are going to do a regular registry for fine china and some other stuff...but we will prob. do a HM one also.
