Honeymoon Registry

Honeymoon Registry

Hi everyone, was wondering if anyone here has ever heard of a honeymoon registry? If so, how does it work? FH and I already have our own place and don't really need a lot of stuff. I mean, I'd like to register for some good pots and pans, maybe some new flatware, and a wine refigerator but we honestly don't need a lot of stuff. Honestly, a honeymoon would be the best gift of all! TIA!

Ive been meaning to look into this myself, I know some registries allow your guests to put money into your flight, hotel and HM activities.

Re: Honeymoon Registry

We used travelersjoy for our HM and basically what it lets you do is create the registry however you'd like. You make up the money amounts for the items, insert pictures for each thing, and customize it completely -- but it's super simple to do! Your friends and family go to your registry the way they would any other shopping registry and read through the items -- only the items are activities and purchases related to your HM that you created! They use a CC to pay and the money (minus 7%, which the company takes -- so basically you can mark up everything a little if you really want to try to cover the full price for each item) get deposited in your account on the website.

Whenever you're ready, you request a check from TJ, or you can ask them to wire it straight to your bank account if you need the money faster. (We just ordered a check after the HM.)

7% might sound like a lot but think about it -- it's less than tax!

If you'd like to see what our HM registry looked like, send me a FM and I'll send you the link. Our family and friends had so much fun reading about all the adventures we were planning and in a way it really brought our HM to life for them! We got nearly $2k in presents from it, which was very nice too.
