I was wondering how you ladies felt about honeymoon registries? Tacky?
I would only put the registry on our wedding website, and the wedding website will be on our save the dates.
I wouldn't send anything out saying 'please pay for our honeymoon' - or anything like that.
I already live with F and we'd do a BIBB registry to 'upgrade' some things and for people who would like to buy us a gift, would be able too.
Opinions?
And does anyone know a good honeymoon registry website that they would recommend?
Thank You!

Re: Honeymoon Registry
FH's cousin did that for her wedding and I didn't see anything wrong with it.

Re: Honeymoon Registry
I know people who have used them, I don't think it's tacky at all.

Re: Honeymoon Registry
We are doing it...by next year when we get married, we'll have been living together for 5 1/2 years, and I think people would just assume to give cash if they are going to give gifts.
The honeymoon registry makes it a little more fun and personal as long as you go about it the right way.
I am using honeyfund, but there are other good sites around.

Re: Honeymoon Registry
I think they are great. I actually don't have one as my FMIL is paying for our honeymoon, but if she wasn't I so would do it!

Re: Honeymoon Registry
I think they are a GREAT idea for couples who already live together and don't really need 'things'. (I know that Kedra wants to do one, I'll find out who she wants to use!). Kedra and Andy met a couple when we were in Ireland that were on their honeymoon and they were doing a TON of stuff with their registry gifts. They got tickets to attractions and drink coupons and all sorts of things. Bascically, you just get sent a check for however much those things cost and it's really up to you whether or not you use it that way.

I don't think there's anything wrong with it.
It's what you want. No different than saying, 'I want that blender!' :)
I, too, have been thinking about it. For those that have done it, are there fees involved?

Depends on what kind of site you want.
Honeyfund offers a free one but there are less features and ads that show up with it. For a one time fee of $29.99 it's much more elaborate with more options and no ads

Re: Honeymoon Registry
FH and i are also doing a honeymoon registry, but are registering for a few items at a store (not sure which yet) for the older women who may have issues not giving an actual 'present'

That's exactly what we're doing. Exactly.

Yes, def give options to ur guests and pick the right wording for the honeymoon registry, make sure to provide enough details so u can make the guests feel as if they're contributing to the 'fun' part..instead of just paying for part of the HM
