Honeymoon Registry

Hi Guys: So FH and I are going to do a Honeymoon Registry. The daughter of someone I work with used travelersjoy.com and they were happy so I am probably going to use them.

Has anyone done this? How does it work? Do you have the book the Honeymoon before doing it? Or do you have a list of prices that you think it is going to be and use that?

I gave out cards to liberty travel for my shower. People gave me gift cards there. I received about 900$ its def worth it. I did not book anything for my hm yet. I know some of the websites charge a fee, so look into it before you go with one.

I used Travelers Joy too & it was great. I made cards using Avery business cards that my mom put in the bridal shower invites (I also registered at BBB).

You do not need to book ur HM before hand. You put whatever you want on the registry and make up the prices...I actually researched what we wanted to do and got prices that way. The money from all the 'gifts' people purchased goes into an account & you can request the money at any time, as many times as you want. You do not need to actually do any of the things that were bought on the registry...it's purely monetary (without coming across that way). I only put excursion type things & spa treatments on there, I didn't put airfare or hotel accommodations b/c I didn't want it to be like they were actually paying for my HM, if that makes any sense, jmo. In the end, we got a check for $2,000 which was pretty sweet b/c you can spend it on anything you want...doesn't even have to be HM related.

Cards from Liberty Travel (They gave me cards to give out), it gave the name of a liberty travel agent they could call and get a gift certificate. Does that make sense?


** one more thing.. they could go to ANY liberty travel and get a gift card or certificate, they did not have to go to the one specifically on the card.

i used travelersjoy and loved it! We still have yet to book our honeymoon so no you dont need to book a honeymoon first just know where you want to go and look at different excursions to put on. I actually had more people buy from that than any of my other registries and I didnt mind getting 'wedding' gifts from people who used that site as well.

We looked at it like this.

We knew we were going on a honeymoon, so if we ended up getting 50$ from it, then so be it, we had 50 more dollars towards a trip we knew we were taking.

It can't hurt to have it.

Traveler's Joy charges you 7.5%.

You can get a check as soon as you want on Traveler's Joy. I actually had it deposited into my PayPal account and then transfered it into my bank account.
