Anyone heard of this or doing it?? Apparently you register for your honeymoon and instead of buying gifts, your guests have the option of helping out with the cost of your Honeymoon (or something like that). I'm confused.. but intrigued..How does this work?? lol

Honeymoon Registry
Check with your travel agent! You can set up a HM registry through them, usually there is no charge to your guests, like there is via honey fund! You can set up excursions you want to embark on OR 'trip contributions' where they pay the balance of your trip!!!

I wanted to do this but my FH and mom both think it's like begging for money. :(

Re: Honeymoon Registry
i did one through sandals, and we got alot of great things for our honeymoon :) honeymoonwishes.com is a good site.. we did one though sandals, but i think they use that same website...
Just a tip though: I would lean more towards picking specific honeymoon excursions that you would like, rather than asking for monetary contributions. I have heard lots of complaints from shower guests of other family weddings (2 different cousins' weddings- one on my side and one on FH's side) who thought the idea of contributing straight up cash to someone's honeymoon was tacky, which I kind of agree with but to each their own... I did one with specific excursions that guests can purchase, and it was well received. I think that people prefer to buy you a ziplining excursion or a nice dinner on the beach or something over just paying $100 for you to use on your honeymoon. People like to know where exactly their money is going
We got a ziplining excursion, a helicopter ride in St. Lucia, and some dinner and wine upgrades for our honeymoon :)

Your doing Sandals St. Lucia? Which Resort? The excursions are extra? Did you use a travel agent to help you set up excursions?

Honeymoon Registry
I'm meeting with Melissa from trip guy in a few weeks to do it. We are going to register at BBB also, my mom's suggested it bc the elderly guest wouldn't like only giving money to honeymoon. I'll let u know what I find out but it will be a few weeks.

I loved being able to give excursions as a gift in the past. I think it's a wonderful idea! Who cares what other people think!! If you don't need home items, I think most people would rather give gifts that they know you will use.

registry.sandals.com... yeah the excursions are definitely extra! lol... it's all inclusive, so you have access to the beach pool food etc. but if you want to hike the volcanos or go ziplining you pay extra

TOTALLY agree with this. We registered through sandals for our excursions. We originally had the general monetary contributions but people who were going to do that told us that Sandals was taxing them (so if they wanted to make a $100 contribution, sandals was charging them $107 or something like that). We thought that was CRAZY since we're already paying tax on the trip so we removed that feature. But we got all of our excursions! SO excited to go on them!

Honeymoon Registry
We are going on a Southern Caribbean Cruise through Carnival and we have a registry through them. The only drawback is that Carnival only lets you register for certain excursions, of course none of which we want to go one. We are just asking for some specific things, i.e. couples massage, dinner upgrade, but as for the excursions we had to just register for gift cards to use on the cruise. Not thrilled about that part, but it is what it is.
