Honeymoon Registry: Which one to choose?

Honeymoon Registry: Which one to choose?

So honeyfund seems to be the no-brainer way to go with honeymoon registries - no fees, no middle-man etc
Why do some people choose to go with other registires through sites like honeymoonwishes or liberty travel that charge 7%?
Just wondering, trying to decide which way to go.
Thanks!!

I used thehoneymoon.com and loved it. no fees for me, really easy to set up, you can include cute pics - and they send you a check on your schedule.

I agree that honeyfund is a no-brainer but I also know why some people don't do it.

I have read on here that some people dislike honeyfund b/c you are not 'locked into' any of the activities you sign up for. So you can get a snorkeling trip from aunt Bertha, wake up hungover, decide not to go, and you've robbed Aunt Bertha...

I disagree and think that's silly if you honestly intend to do/buy all the things on your registry. If you skip one, jeeze no biggie- and anyway it's worth it for the greater good. I mean, I have like 100 ladies coming to my shower (thanks FMIL haha) and if each one pays a 7% fee, that's a lot.

But eh, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Plus I put a sort of disclaimer on my registry like, 'although we haven't registered at any specific home store, if you prefer to give a traditional gift we trust your judgment and will be pleasantly surprised'. This way nobody can say I forced them to do anything... (although I can't for the life of me figure out why it's socially acceptable to make someone buy you a toaster and not a bingo card on your cruise haha).

Anyway, good luck. I had a lot of fun doing the honeyfund registry.

i think the reason why is bc with liberty travel, you dont actually get lets say a gc for a massage or to a restaurant. Yes ppl purchase these things for you but what liberty travel does is they total the amount guests spent on you and just hand you a check in that amount so youre not obligated to any activities and some ppl prefer to get the money and use it however they want.

See I thought they all work that way. Is that not true?

I highly recoment travelers joy, especially if you are registering for a fairly small amount. The sites presentation and record keeping justified the fee to me, and we really enjoyed it!
