We used a travel agent for our honeymoon...we priced it out ourselves, they were able to give us what we wanted for slightly less and with a few throw ins. Plus they setup all your connections.

I used a travel agent..we researched prices and where we wanted to stay but I booked with a travel agent for the travelers insurance and it was easier for me ...I don't think there was any fees

Travel agents do not and should not charge any fees!
Do a little research for yourself to guide you with prices.

If you need a recommendation, I have a great TA. She looks for the best priced vacation and doesnt take us for a ride! We have used her for Europe, Cruises and all inclusives I hightly recommend her. FM me if you want the info

I used a travel agent and i never have before. Using a TA, I got much better pricing and upgrades than if I had booked myself. Another bonus is that I don't have to lay out all the money now - gave a deposit and the balance isn't due until 45 days before we leave.

Re: honeymoon / use a travel agent??

We used a travel agent for our 13 day trip to Hawaii! It was too important of a trip to a place we knew absolutely nothing about - we felt it was necessary to work with someone who really knew the area and could recommend hotels, restaurants, excursions, etc, especially since we are island hopping.

That being said, if you are going to an all-inclusive resort, it might not be worth it. They don't cost you anything and they can't always get you better rates...

i did a lot of research on my own..then went to liberty travel where they match any online prices..it was important for me to speak to someone who could tell me about the place..and to get insurance through them

i've heard great, great things about travel tom. I know that a few '12ers have booked with him and are very happy with him.

Tom is very informative, responsive and I have heard great things about the deals that people have gotten through him. We discussed a number of options with Tom and he was very helpful; then it turned out we could get a great deal somewhere else through a family member (would have been out of budget through the travel agent), so we went with that. Otherwise, we probably would have gone with Travel Tom.
