Can anyone suggest 'cheap' honeymoons (or rather budget friendly honeymoons that don't skimp on quality and service)..... preferably all-inclusive beach resorts... we were originally trying to budget about $5K (including airfare) but with all the other wedding expenses quickly adding up, I'd like to see this figure drop drastically by a couple of K's.......
Any ideas?

Re: honeymoons on a budget.... help?
we went here TWICE (once in 2003, once in 2004) ...its really nice, and all-inclusive..i think it was around $1200 per person, with airfare. we went over the summer..dunno when you r plannign to take your honeymoon so the prices might be diff then if you r going to go in another season. can't hurt to try though...
We did our honeymoon within that $$ range. A few years ago I went to an all inclusive in Jamaica for around $3K. I would definitely search the internet (maybe try Aruba since you're getting married during hurricane season) and see a travel agent. They get wholesale pricing that isn't offered to the public. I actually went to two travel agents before I booked our HM.
You can do a Sandals of Couples resort for under $4000 with airfair. They are running sales right now (Im not sure id Sandals is still on)
Check Liberty travels website for ideas.
i know sandals is having a major sale....i put a in for a quote for november for the grande st lucian an it was like 4000 for a week...i went year ago to the royal bahamian sandals and pain almost 4500 for only 5 nights...def look into sandals now i think they are running 50% off till end of july...so hurry

You can go to the DOminican Republic but rather thang go to Punta Cana (which is the most expensive resorts and airport ticket price) you can arrive to Santo DOmingo and go to hotels in Juan Dolio or go to Puerto Plata. Check with a travel agent that know the area they usually get discount and know what hotel is better somenthing that online cant really let you know.

You must go to Punta Cana!!! I just came back from Punta Cana - stayed at the Excellence (couples only all inclusive).
Minus the extras we opted for, the total with airfare was about $1,900.00. We booked through Liberty Travel. Just do yourself a favor if you go through an agent... make sure you call the resort yourself and tell them you are on your HM. LT didn't let them know and we almost missed out on all the special HM amentities. Fortunately I was like Monica on Friends and told everyone - Hi, we are on our HM - do something for us.
Punta Cana is NOTexpensive and it was the best HM ever!!! You are treated like royalty! We did chose the upgrade and paid $100 a night for the Excellence Club. We also did 2 couples massages which were under $400 for both of us and 2 very different massages. We had an awesome time. One piece of advice... visit your local tanning salon prior to going... had I not established a base tan I would have been in trouble! I got a little red (even DH did and he's dark naturally), but nothing like my usual white sunburned self.

Lifestyle Hacienda Resorts on Confresi Beach in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.
This resort is all inclusive. I can get you very discounted rates, since I am a vacation club owner.
The rates per night for a suite start at $135 per night, all inclusive (food, drinks, activities)....and go up to $235 a night all inclusive for a 3 bedroom marble/granite villa with a private pool. There are seven restaurants, and you would have access to all. As well as all the VIP areas.
I have tons of photos and more info but here is the website for the resort. Definitely FM me if you are interested.
Cancun is always pretty affordable...we're staying at the Excellence Riviera Cancun (all inclusive) for 6 nights. We got that with the flight through Travelocity and spent about $3300.
