honeymoons on a budget.... help?

honeymoons on a budget.... help?

Can anyone suggest 'cheap' honeymoons (or rather budget friendly honeymoons that don't skimp on quality and service)..... preferably all-inclusive beach resorts... we were originally trying to budget about $5K (including airfare) but with all the other wedding expenses quickly adding up, I'd like to see this figure drop drastically by a couple of K's.......

Any ideas?

Thanks! Please keep me posted!

I'd love to go on a cruise but me and boats don't mix well unfortunately!

It's just crazy how quickly everything wedding-related adds up and we are sooo over budget now, and the $5K we originally budgeted for HM is out the window now...

But sometimes I hear about people going to these great resorts in the caribbean for so cheap!

I'm beginning to think we won't be able to go on a HM

Im not doing an AI but im going to Aruba for 8 days for just under 3k. So im sure if you wanted AI there it would fall in your price rage. It also depends how long you want to stay for.

i think that is do-able! could you meet with a travel agent, or do you have AAA? sometimes agents have the best deals. otherwise, look for all inclusive resorts -- youll get a better idea of your total bc food costs wont be a mystery. check out a few of the caribbean islands. the dominican republic is BEAUTIFUL, and has some nice resorts that are not crazy expensive. you can also go to the mayan riviera in mexico for a reasonable amount of money. good luck! let us know how it goes!

Definitely speak to a travel agent. They can definitely advise you and find good deals for you . My friend also used skyauction.com and found some great deals on there as well.

Are you dead set on going to the islands? Zoom airlines flies from JFK to London Gatwick - 2 people round trip was $997 (we're leaving on 11-3, returning 11-17 - prices drop in November). We're then going to Ireland ($77 per person), and a go-as-you-please tour of Ireland, which includes car rental and B-n-B, is very reasonable.

We're going to COuples in Jamaica for a week. It came to around $3k with airfare. We used a travel agent I found on here and he was great. Email him at [email protected]

I highly recommend Costa Rica. We're staying at two of the top rated places in Costa Rica and it's sooooo inexpensive. If we were to stay at comparable places somewhere like Hawaii, it would probably cost an arm and a leg.

why not look into buying someone's timeshare for a week. you can get some good deals doing that.

Girl, i hear you.... we were on such a buget too but we found an affordable honeymoon. we initally went to travel agents just to see what was out there. we basically put the same package that travel agents were quoting and compared them to plaves on expedia, travelcoty, etc. and they beat the deal almost everytime.

we booked through travelocity.... we LOVED our honeymoon. We went to Sunset at the Palms in Negril, Jamaica. It was $3100 for both of us for round trip airfare to Jamaica (non-stop from JFK), 6 nights and 7 days at the resort, which was all-inclusive. i have to say, if money is an issue, all-inclusive is the way to go. we spent nothing extra and ate and drank all week as much as we wanted. we did spend some money when went off the resort to do a little sight-seeing, but it wasn't too bad. Also, we traveled in February, prime time for Carribbean travel, so you might even be able to do a little better if you're not getting married in the winter.

I highly, highly recommend sunset at the palms. it was quiet, absolutely beautiful and NOT crowded. the Sandals and COuples resorts were PACKED...we never had to search for a beach chair or wait on line for drinks. going with a lesser known resort was a great choice. they also have locations in Montego Bay and Ochos Rios. Sunset at the Palms
