I was wondering if there were any creative and thoughtful ideas that I can do to surprise FH and his family on our wedding day to honor his father that passed away? I have seen the if heaven wasn't so far away and saved seat kind of stuff but I am looking for something else. Any ideas?

Honoring those that have passed
My brother and sister in law took a moment at the beginning of their reception where they went around to each table and lit one candle on each to represent her mom who had passed. They had over the rainbow plaing and the DJ announced that her moms light would now fill the room. It was a beautiful moment.

At my brothers wedding my sister in law got a beautiful floral wreath to sit by their table at the wedding for my father who passed when we were young.

We have a little table when you first walk into the reception area and we are planning on having a vase with a flame less candle and some flowers that has inscribed 'In Memory Of' with the names of my grandma and aunt who both passed recently and FH's father who passed a few years ago, along with some framed photos of them. I will also have a memory charm with a photo of my grandma on my bouquet.

I plan to have a saved seat for my mom and a picture of her in a charm on my bouquet.
The colors of my wedding are an honor to her too (Green for her eyes, purple for her favorite color and yellow for yellow roses - her favorite flower).
