Hopefully we made the right choice......

My FH is a volunteer fireman, his brother is a volunteer fireman, his father is a v. fireman and a commissioner- they family is very involved with the fire dept, lol. In any case, the FD was having a company cruise which they do every 5 years and its April 3-10. FH and I decided we were not going to go because although the room is extremely cheap due to the discounts, you still have to worry about your tipping, any drinks you want, exercusions, etc etc as well as it being only 6 weeks prior to our wedding. So we passed back in the Fall. Well, a room became available at Christmas time and we were offered it and passed again. Again, a few weeks ago someone else had to back out and a room became available. We were going to say no and his parents very nicely decided they were going to treat us to it- pay for our room and give us $500 spending, which is what they had already done for his brother. I was excited, but now I am getting REALLY NERVOUS. Everyone keeps telling me, oh its the perfect time because you will relieve some stress and when you get back you still have plenty of time to accomplish things. I am still nervous though!! I think I might need to bring my laptop with me!! haha I don't know if I can go 8 days without coming on here! LOL NOt that close to the wedding anyways!!

I'm going to try to relax and work on my tan lol BUT I am still nervous that I will be worrying about everything I still have to do. Oh and get this- my bachelorette party is the night before on the 2nd. My limo would be dropping my girls and I back off at my house at 6am and the firehouse is having bagels at 8:30 and then leaving from there. BUT April 2nd is Daylight savings time so my limo is actually dropping us off at 7am. LOL And then I am going to be on a cruise ship, which I have never done before......LOL I have a feeling I am going to be either swaggering on that ship or fast asleep the first day!

Oh, I wish I had a vacation beforehand and I'm sure a lot of people would agree! I'm sure once you're there though you'll have your LIWedding cravings, for the most part, you probably won't be thinking about it too much.

1- they DO have internet on cruise ships... you can pay for a card, that gives you access to their 'web' cafe's or whatever it's called on your particular cruise, so DON'T worry about LIW, you WILL be able 'check in'!

2- It WILL be a good stress reliever, IF you are not thinking about stuff that NEEDS to get done at home. (I went away for 3 days on Feb Break, and I had this HUGE to-do list for Thur/Fri/Sat/Sun when we got home, and the ENTIRE time away, I was JUST thinking about getting back home to make suer it all got done)... SO, my suggestion, is make a list for NOW, and Complete all of it before you go... THEN, make anoter list, and plan it for a few days AFTER you return, so you will not be thinkign of all the stuff that still needs to get done. and- delegate some stuff to get done while you're away, so that you will still feel like stuff is getting done... or get lets say, your BM gifts while your away... this way the trip will feel like you are still 'planning'

Yes and yes!!! Relax, have some fun, check out LIW while tanning, having a drink.... relax and have fun!

i just came back from a vacation before the wedding and it was so worth it...for 8 days i didnt have one wedding thought or panic about forgetting something


go and enjoy with your FH
