Horrible website...Anyone happen to be listening to Z100 yesterday morning......

Original post by nicopico13

I meant to post this yesterday, but was a little crazed at work! So on Z100 yesterday they were discussing this website - AshleyMadison.com. and I think its just terrible! Its basically a dating website for married people or people in a serious relationship that want to cheat! The guy who thought of it is a millionaire, its $49 to sign up and there are over 2 million members! Why did they even get married!

How disturbing.

My thoughts are - if someone wants to cheat whether or not there is a website for it isn't going to stop them. I heard a large number of people who have personal ads or are on dating websites are already in committed relationships anyway.

Seriously, who are these people? Everyone I know is like 'that would never happen to us', but obviously it happens to alot of people if so many people are using it.

oh i definitely think married ppl using other regular single sites to meet people.

Its true, everybody does say 'it will never happen to us' but i doubt anybody that was cheated on was thinking 'oh i know i will get cheated on' lol i am sure they are just as surprised and never thought they would be in that situation. Hey ive seen people do it whom you would least expect, its sad how much of the norm this is

That is just revolting. How can anyone advertise that and try to make it look like this appealing thing? Morals apparently have no place in our society! I know that sounds a little drastic but I am a teacher and I wonder where my students get these negative outlooks from...hmm...

i heard about this for the first time yesterday and last night i actually saw the commercial for this their motto is 'life is short, have an affair' i forgot what channel i saw this on but its so disgusting and can't believe they advertise it.

In the commercial the guy is sleeping in bed next to his wife and then is trying to sneak out.

Its bad enough theres a website like this but i cant believe that others are advertising it.

omg i saw the same thing! It's seriously disturbing to me...and it's scary to think that 2 million...MILLION people are on it.

i just wonder if it really is free, if so then youre going to have SOOO many other ppl join. I feel like joining but not making a profile just to see if theres anybody on there i know. Well luckily most of my friends arent married so wont be alot of ppl to catch on there

How did this stupid site get its name? Ashley was the name of the creator's wife and Madison was the name of his mistress, maybe? Eww. That site is so disturbing.

its probably like a free trial or something, I'm sure there is a catch. You have to read the comments section from people who are actually using the site. We looked at it last night and its really disturbing how enthralled (sp?) people are with the site.

Absolutely horrible!! That's just another example of the decline of morality in today's society.

Very, very sad

Yes this was on Montel Williams Show. How disgusting & pathetic. I think its an absolute travesty to allow these type of sites to contribute to the breakdown of marriages & society. RIDICULOUS!

nope you just go to the site and on the bottom it says comments or tesitmonials, something like that and when you click it it brings up a bunch of emails that people have written about the site. A friend and I were going to write one about how sick and sad the site was, but we didn't want to use our email addresses to do it!

I just read about the website and guy who started it in Newsweek yesterday. I couldn't believe he's married with two kids!! I definitely wouldn't trust him if he was my husband!!

They named the company after the two most popular woman on the site the first year - what an honor

oh my god that is disgusting! not only morally for the website, but the people who go on it must be so gross. imagine! and it's one thing to advertise on the radio (although its still bad), but on t.v., where children can actually see to understand whats going on....ughughugh

Want to know what I think is even worse? This will probably become mainstream just like the condom commercials have. My 4th grade students last year knew what condoms were and knew the 'trojan' man tune. NOT NORMAL. But, its shown on alot of regular stations now...even during harry potter (That drove me and fh up a wall)

And they wonder WHY the majority of young girls have had sex or are becomming prego? Hmm... is it that hard to figure it out?

yeah i went back on the site and saw that section. I read a bunch of the comments ppl wrote, they are crazy.

One person said how they thank the site bc her and her lover and finally happy after both being in loveless marriages for years. SO THEN JUST LEAVE thats what annoys me, if youre so miserable for years then leave your husband/wife instead of cheating on them. Another talked about how badly she was treated by her husband and was abusive to the kids, AGAIN LEAVE.

Have you also noticed that alot of them ended up meeting somebody on the site and eventually did get a divorce and are now marrying the other person
