It seems like a lot of people are looking for docs affiliated with Winthrop, or will be delivering there. Is there a reason? Is it better than North Shore, or LIJ?

I am not from NY. But, I have heard that Winthrop is wonderful. I honestly do not know what makes them better than the rest. Sorry.

I'm not really sure either. My sister delivered at LIJ 3 1/2 yrs ago, and it seemed like a nice hospital.
At my GYN's office, there was a sign at the desk saying that after X date, all deliveries will be at Winthrop.

I was just talking to someone about this yesterday at a SuperBowl party, LOL. She is a nurse at NY Presbeterian in NYC and is pregnant with twins. She wanted either North Shore or Winthrop and after research has decided on Winthrop. She said both were a level 3 and had the necessary neonatal staff and specialists. They have great facilities and a great staff. Plus depending on where you live, it can be a lot closer.

I am delivering at LIJ - it is a wonderful hospital - great docs, and close to me too.
