So I went the ER last night with my soon to be 2 yr old son at about 11 PM, He has a really nasty virus called Cocksakie, which is basically, fevers up to 103.0 a rash from head to toe, blisters on his inner lips, mouth, tongue and, down his throat. So basically yesterday he wouldn't drink or eat anything ( he's a liquid diet ) and he didn't do pee pees all day long SO he fell asleep, woke up about 11 pm screaming, finally after a 1/2 hour of screaming I called the DR. and she said to get him to the ER, they took a blood test and came back he was borderline dehydrated so they gave him fluids from an IV, so we were there all night long we (Me FH and the baby ) got home about 10 AM, He will be fine, it just has to run its course. Thanks for listening everyone...

Re: Hospitial Fun...
Poor baby! I always feel so awful when my little guys are sick... they are so helpless.
I also feel so sorry for you! A mommy gets to have all the fun... taking care of the fever, staying up late, waking up early, making sure he is getting better and WORRYING!!!
I feel for you sweetie. I really do.

I work in a day care facility and cocksackie is going around. Its highly contageous the first week or so through saliva. We are constantly sanitizing everything.
Best of luck!!! It will get better!!

Re: Hospitial Fun...
Im so sorry for your son, I had this when i was about 8 and it really was the most sick ive ever been. I know my mom had a gargle prescribed by the doc and she used it for all of us to kind of numb the pain. my sister was only about 2, so she would put it on a qtip and put it on the blisters. this was a long time ago, but i remember i loved that gargle! i hope he feels better soon!
