Re: Hotel Block
Your RH should have given you a list of nice local hotels.
We just called told them we wanted to book a block of rooms and that was that. Just to put my mind at ease we went to view the rooms and the bridal suites.
It doesn't cost you a penny.

Re: Hotel Block
The hotel where I blocked rooms allowed me to block 60 rooms, I think I probably could have blocked more if I needed to. Basically, I believe the week before your wedding if there are rooms still remaining, then they need to release them to the public. Hope that helps.

Re: Hotel Block
Yes. I started with 20 rooms blocked for my night at the Holiday Inn Express in Riverhead...which isn't far from your reception. If you call them, they'll give you the woman who deals with that. Her name is Christine. PS that hotel is really nice...There's a Best Western out there too but its not as nice as the Holiday inn.

Re: Hotel Block
Did anyone get a discounted rate? When I called, they said they didn't discount, just held the rooms for us. To me, that's strange. If I'm bringing them 20 guests they wouldn't normally have, shouldn't there be a discount? She made it sound like we'd be lucky to be there.

Re: Hotel Block
You should be able to get a discount. I was even able to talk mine down $40 from what they orignially quoted me. I was like 'you can't do better? I am bringing in 40 rooms for you in FEBRUARY. . . . . ' they lowered it.... got the rooms for $119.00

I'm not sure exactly where East Wind is located, but I know that the Courtyard Marriott in Ronkonkoma has great rates and the rooms are really nice. Their still pretty new, so their rates are very competitive.

Re: Hotel Block
We are getting married at Giorgio's -- we blocked rooms at the Best Western East End because it was cheaper then the Holiday Inn Express. We went and checked it out too and it was very nice.! The person you would speak to at Best Western is Kristen Reyes. I think they have a website too.
