Hotel block at Holiday Inn Ronkonkoma

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience, good/bad, with the Holiday Inn on Vets highway in Ronkonkoma (I believe). I don't know what to expect when doing a hotel block. Is that too far from Flowerfield (St. James)?

I heard its not a great hotel and dirty. I didnt check them out because of the bad things I heard but they might be great. Just sharing what I've heard and what I've read in online reviews. What about the Hilton thats just down the road?

Just got married in Oct at Lands End and stayed there. They were okay, not very accommodating, when my husband called to make our reservation you would think they would say, thank for blocking your rooms with us, but they didn't say anything. Some of my guests also were charged twice for the room and had to call. But it was okay. They also have a bar which was great for an after party for us. It is a big hotel and I think there were prob 3 weddings there. We also hosted a breakfast the next morning and that turned out very nice also.

I have not heard the best things either. Check out the Hyatt Regency in hauppauge.. I have my block there . It's a really nice hotel and I got a good rate. It's also closer to flowerfield than the holiday inn

I had my hotel block there about a month ago. They were great. I mean I didnt need much from them hahaha. But I booked the large suite and there was plenty of room to get ready in for all the girls. I asked them to bring extra chairs and they brought them right away. We had a great time in the bar/restaurant the night before the wedding. Its a little bit outdated in the hallways, but their rooms are nice. I have no complaints.

I was given $139/night rate which included a shuttle service which was why I booked them

we looked and thought it smelled like smoke on a non smoking floor. the rooms/ decor was outdated compared to the other places we looked.
