Hotel Block Freak out!

Holy smokes! So FH and I reserved our hotel block months ago with 10 rooms. Because we would be financially responsible for any rooms not booked we didn't add any to the block. We snatched up 3 rooms (plus our free room) right away. I put the hotel information on our wedding website as well as on the card our STDs were on, which went out 2 months ago. I've requested an updated rooming list at least 4 times since I first set up the original block (I had told people info about the block before the STDs) and NOTHING had changed. I requested a new rooming list around New Year's and finally heard back from the hotel. A very kind email was sent also letting me know that the hotel was currently COMPLETELY BOOKED/SOLD OUT for my date! I still had 7 rooms available in my block block nothing available after that! FHs family (finally) booked their rooms (though I asked FSIL, BM, about 2 weeks earlier and she told me she'd get on it right away) and they took up 6 out of the 7, then I booked for my MOH in AZ and BOOM, my rooms are gone. Nothing for our aunts and uncles or friends that wanted rooms. We are currently on a waiting list but will not know until a month before our wedding if any rooms open up. We really didn't want to have blocks at different hotels. My mom said if we can't get anymore rooms, then she and my dad would go to the other hotel. Well I don't want my parents at a separate hotel than everyone else! I really wish A) I had originally booked more rooms, B) people would have booked earlier so that I would have added more rooms earlier, C) the hotel would have called me when they started booking up to see if I would have wanted to add more rooms. I'm FREAKING!

Hotel Block Freak out!

That really stinks, I am sorry you are going thru this. It is very stressful to have your block sell out so many months in advance! There are a tons of hotels near Woodbury CC, I would call and set up a second block ASAP. Being that it is a holiday weekend I would think that a lot of the hotels are going to be jam packed so the sooner you can call the better. I don't think its the end of the world to have two different hotels. I am have two hotel blocks because the hotel that I wanted was pricey so I made a second block at a more budget conscious hotel. Everyone will be together at the wedding where it really matters. Good luck, it will all work out!!

Hotel Block Freak out!

We wanted to do an 'after party' type thing after the reception and breakfast (brunch) all together the following day, which would be difficult with people at 2 hotels. My original hotel puts out a complimentary breakfast spread so it wouldn't be an extra expense for us. I'm sure they wouldn't allow people just walking in and eating with us. My mom said 'we'll' just pay for a catered private room if 'we' need to. I didn;t ask who she meant by 'we' but FH and I really can't afford this extra right now but we really want it. UGH!

Hotel Block Freak out!

I agree the after brunch with people at separate hotels is difficult. We are going thru that right now. No idea how we are going to handle it and we are only 2 months out lol. Another headache you don't need right now. I feel your pain girl!! ughhhhh!
