Okay, FH and I have checked out the Sheraton & the Hilton Garden Inn in Jamaica. We were not impressed with either hotel. The customer service was terrible at the Sheraton, we waited approx 30 minutes just to be acknowledged. At the Hilton, the front desk staff was helpful but there has been extreme difficulty blocking rooms. Apparently the same women is in charge of blocking rooms at both the Sheraton & Hilton, (not impressed with her). The blocked rate I was orginally given is not a discount at all. After doing a little legwork I learned it was the normal rate. After numerous phone calls and demanding to speak w a manager I was then given a $20 discount per room. We really do not want to book with either place but feel like our options are severely limited. Anyone who is getting married or has gotten married at Russo's where did you block rooms? Please help.

Re: Hotel block near Russo's on the Bay
Your options are going to be very limited. All the hotels nearby are pretty 50/50 when it comes to customer service. We looked into getting a block, but since we only had a few out of town guests, we left it up to them to find a hotel because we didn't really like any of the hotels near by. The hampton inn gave us the cheapest price of 129.

I know there is a Comfort Inn down Cross Bay Blvd near the craft store. I have never set foot inside so I cannot recommend it.
There is also a Best Western on Knapp Street and Emmons Avenue - this is a few years old - again have not been to either hotel.
