Hotel Block- opinions needed

OK so this hotel block has been the most stressful thing planning to date!!

As you know, hotels on LI are friggin expensive, and I'm trying to get the best possible deal for the block.

The cheapest hotel quote we got was 129 per night, from the Islandia Mariott and its about 25 minutes from the wedding.

The next best quote we got was 149 per night, and its under 10 minutes from the wedding, in Medford. The price also includes shuttle service to/from Macarthur airport and the train station, and a free shuttle to and from the wedding.

We would get a shuttle to the wedding either way but I'm just trying to figure out whats the best balance here!

What do you girls think???????

I'd go with the second one. It's closer and there's a shuttle. I wouldn't mind paying that for one night.

def go with the closer one, I've had to pay up to $250 to stay over at a hotel for a wedding, so that is NOT BAD!

I would go with the 149 option....having transportation to the train station/airport is a huge benefit, not to mention the shuttle to the wedding. I do not think that 149 is too much to ask for a hotel room.

I'm going thought the hotel block right now too. Way more stressful then i ever thought it would be. I would go wit the $149 a night. Thats a really good rate! Also the shuttle will help a lot. We are also getting our own shuttle bus but i like the idea of sending the big shuttle and then 10-15 min later sending the smaller one for the stragglers. Its also helpful to ave the hotel shuttle for the people who need to get from the LIR to the hotel.

The hotel we are going with the 199 a night (eek ) so $149 seems awesome to me!
