Hi everyone. I just wanted to reach out and get a sense for how hotels usually deal with a room block. I have rooms block at the Hampton Inn Garden City and I've already had to extend the block by 15 more rooms. I'm finding that they aren't very flexable though. Once we hit the quota for the initial block people couldn't get the group deal online and even when calling they aren't extending the rate to additional people. I think I always assumed hotels would be more flexable and that the block rates weren't cut off once you hit your guarantees. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm finding it to be pretty stressfull, I feel like I need to constantly monitor how many rooms are still available!

Hotel Block Question! - Long Island Weddings
Is there something in the contract that would help? We don't have as many LOT guests so I haven't met the quota.

I haven't met the quota yet nor do I have a contract with them but they did say the deal would be extended. I worked in the hotel industry for awhile and they're the best with meeting the costumers needs so I say just give them a call and discuss the problem. I'm sure they'll apologize and fix what they can.

Re: Hotel Block Question!
My hotel extended ours. But we were expecting more people to book and they only told me 25. I guess time will tell if some of those people booked and weren't put in the block. Good luck.

Re: Hotel Block Question!
We haven't met our quota but they made it sound like if we needed more rooms it wouldn't be a problem.
