Hotel Block Questions

Hotel Block Questions

I'm starting to design my invitations and just realized that I haven't even thought about the Accommodations section of the invites.

-I'm not inviting many people from out of state, is it poor etiquette to not include hotel accommodations in the invitation?
-Also, when I block off rooms- how does that work?
-Do I have to guarantee a certain amount of rooms being booked?
-If all of those rooms aren't booked then am I responsible from them?

Fill me in a little here!! Thanks =)

Re: Hotel Block Questions

It depends on the hotel..I have our block at La Quinta..they block 10 rooms at a time (I am not responsible for any of them being booked)

They hold the rooms until 1 month before if they are not booked they release them back into their available rooms.

I am enclosing a card for accomidations in our invite but you could just tell people word of mouth if that is easier for you

Ecah hotel works slightly differently ... mine lets you reserve up to 15 rooms without having to guarantee any of them will be booked. BUT if i wanted to reserve any more than 15, i'd have to guarantee a certain amount. they hold the block until about one month before your wedding.

i don't think i'ts poor ettiquette not to include an accomodations card ... we only sent an email out to people who we thought might use it. of course, i could be wrong lol

Re: Hotel Block Questions

Our hotel blocked 10 rooms at no charge to us and released any unbooked rooms a month before the wedding. They provided me with an accomodations insert that I stuck in the envelope with the invite. They only gave me like 20 inserts, but I just photo copied them on nice paper (at work shhh)
